👧🏾👦🏾Every child deserves the opportunity to survive and thrive. In 2025, @WHO supported hospitals across North and South Kivu, DRC, with 44 specialized nutrition kits. These supplies helped provide life-saving care for 30,757 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition. WHO remains committed to ensuring that no child is left behind.

Niger🇳🇪 is expanding access to quality health care for vulnerable and remote populations through mobile clinics. 🚐 With support from @WHO, these clinics are bridging the gap for communities living far from health facilities, ensuring that distance is no longer a barrier to care.

From 2025 Experience to 2026 Action: Building Africa’s Future through Agency As we close the chapter on 2025 and look toward the promise of 2026, I extend my warmest New Year wishes to our partners, stakeholders, and the resilient communities across #Africa. May the coming year be defined by prosperity, health, and our collective progress toward a self-reliant continent. The past year has been one of significant challenges and test of our resilience. While the international funding landscape faced major headwinds and shifts in 2025, it served as a powerful reminder of why our mission is so urgent. At @evihdaf, we met these challenges with resilience - working tirelessly to prove that even in a volatile environment, evidence-based transformation led by African institutions remains the most sustainable path forward. A cornerstone of our 2025 experience was the global #webinar we hosted in October in collaboration with @FP2030NWCA, @expand_net, and @ICRWAfrica. Our discussion on “Breaking Foreign Aid Dependency: Building Pathways to Stronger Institutions and Locally Led, Evidence-Based Decision-Making in Africa” ignited a vital conversation on shifting the power dynamics of development. The consensus reached was undeniable: dialogue is a starting point, but action is the requirement. To reinvent the future of #WestCentralAfrica, we must translate our collective evidence into actionable implementation strategies. Looking Ahead: Our 2026 Commitment In 2026, #EVIHDAF will launch a deep-dive webinar series designed to translate consensus into real-world results. The following topics are under consideration: 1. Locally Led Health Financing: Utilizing fiscal tools and efficiency gains. 2. National-level Health Accountability: Strengthening advocacy and oversight. 3. Scaling Proven Innovations: Fostering a scaling-up mindset and environment. 4. Data Systems for Decision-Making: Leveraging survey data and routine information. 5. Multi-level Capacity Strengthening: For individuals, organizations, and systems. To maintain momentum, we will establish Technical Working Groups (TWGs) linked to deep dives. These groups will ensure that recommendations are not just discussed, but formally implemented within regional health systems. Help us shape the next phase: We invite you to send specific suggestions for these themes and TWG membership directly to info@evihdaf.com. As I stated at the conclusion of our October forum, EVIHDAF is excited about the journey ahead and is committed to leading this change from the West and Central Africa region. Let’s build a self-reliant future together. 📍 Follow EVIHDAF for our 2026 Webinar Schedule. #GlobalHealth #Localization #AfricaLed #EvidenceToAction #HealthSystems #EVIHDAF #NewYear2026 #HealthFinancing #Accountability

This week at the National Malaria Control Program Scientific Days in Yaoundé, @EVIHDAF & @CESMELHealth organized a round table to tackle fragmented malaria evidence. Panelists called for a single secure repository, and the creation of an Evidence TWG was recommended.
