sometimes this place has no room for nuance. i truly am a gentle soul with love in my heart for most people despite my razor tongue. i am not always nice but i do my best to be kind where it counts. forgive me if i was ever rude. pls know i have no hate in my heart.

yes but that’s due to the time the story was written because marriage wasn’t just for love it was also an economic proposition. lizzys mothers threw a fit because she wouldn’t marry mr. collin’s despite him being well off. not as rich as darcy but still rich enough that her mother swore she’d never speak to her again if she didn’t say yes. same thing for titanic. marriage was still an economic proposition in that time. her mother tells her marrying cal is the only way to save them from being destitute because their father left them with nothing but bad debts and a good name. yes jack dies, but she doesn’t end up marrying cal even though he most likely would’ve taken her back. she ends up marrying some normal dude and has kids with him.

@evilfemcel @CAMELCASTOff Sorry, he was obviously selected for his money - top 0.000001% wealth is not a fluke. Same with "princes" from all romantic fairy tales, billionaire romantic leads in Pretty Woman, 50 Shades etc. In Titanic, Jack was poor but they killed him off so Rose didn't have to marry him.

@blackbelt392299 @CAMELCASTOff 50 shades is smut i wouldn’t consider it one of the most romantic movies by any standard. pretty woman is a modern adaptation of my fair lady. your issue with most romance movies is the woman either cheats or marries someone above her station?

female audience didn’t drool over him because he was rich. he was stoic but became vulnerable around lizzy. women found him interesting because of this. the man who once too proud to dance for fear of looking like fool eventually softening and asking her to dance despite still feeling uncomfortable. women drooled more over this hand scene than they did over the fact darcy had money.

@evilfemcel @CAMELCASTOff Darcy is aloof, tongue-tied, humorless and has a carrot up his ass. Not interesting at all except that he's the richest guy in the district. If he had a normal job, he would never be chosen as a romantic lead. The female audience wouldn't be drooling over him and elated for Lizzy

@blackbelt392299 @CAMELCASTOff she wasn’t poor. in comparison to darcy, yes, but she wasn’t poor either. and considering the time it was written in marriage was an economic proposition for women and their families.

@evilfemcel @CAMELCASTOff Yeah but that's the typical romantic plot of "poor woman gets set for life by marrying billionaire". Vacuous shit masquerading as deep. Exactly like Pretty Woman, 50 Shades etc. gold diggers on heat.

portraying a human (like a politician) as Christ or Christlike performing miracles, equating them to Jesus, or presenting them as a divine savior. this can be seen as idolatry (worshiping a false god) or claiming divinity for a mortal is a qualification for blasphemy. he is quite literally depicted as a man performing miracles with divine light in his hands. the image is blasphemous. doesn’t matter what he thought it was.

Trump came out and addressed the outrage over that viral image. The media instantly ran with the usual hysteria and tried to turn it into something it never was. He made it clear 💯 it was not a depiction of Jesus, it was him as a doctor, tied to the Red Cross. But once the fake news crowd smells a narrative, context never seems to matter. Amazing how fast people invent controversy when the truth was right there the whole time. Why do so many people rush to outrage before they bother to get the facts?

Saying this is a depiction of Christ is one of the most blasphemous things I've heard. There's no Cross, no halo, nothing suggest Christianity at all. Trump just looks like a kind of holy medicine man here, a common archetype.

@npat1776 Yeah, seriously! They flooded in like crazy and NO ONE bothered to understand what it actually meant or any of the context behind a picture that was posted by someone else months ago as a sign of healing. They went straight to "he's mocking Jesus" and "blasphemy!". HOLY MOLY!🤦🏾‍♂️

I truly cannot wait for all these people yelling “blasphemy” towards President Trump to wipe the egg off their face when they realize they were outraged over complete bullshit. Satan is working overtime to divide and deceive and these people are letting him right in the door.🤦🏾‍♂️

Immediately NO. I love Trump, flaws and all… but there is one savior and His name is Jesus. This gross and any Christian defending it needs to spent more time in their Bible.

If you want to over analyze a truth social shitpost, a good interpretation of this would be that Trump is inserting himself into religion and this should be completely fine since the pope decided to insert himself into politics.

@ApocryphaLogos @Sage501 you’re idolizing a false prophet. idolatry is blasemphous. you have be led astray by the devil. trump is more akin to the anti christ than an instrument of god doing his bidding.

@Sage501 God Chose Trump! He made his position very clear when he saved Trump’s life! The Pope, on the other hand, is a man chosen by corruptible men, to lead an institution that has been hollowed out so snakes can wear it as a skin suit.

Hate to break it to you all but Trump cares far more about this country, your security & your life than the Pope does. Trump took a damn bullet for the people while the Pope resides behind high stone walls, blessing blocks of ice & advocating wide open borders becase "God"
