@victoraren57 @YankeeReport_ The only good players (non pitchers) are 99,22,35.
The rest are kinda awful.
English

@YankeeReport_ you do know they played just as well early on last year as well.they are no better that we thought going in. although warren is impressive. grish, mac, jazz, wells all hitting under 200. we ain't that good
English

@coluccid2 What does one have to do with the other? Are really you saying 3/4 liners in the NHL are too stupid to do that job?
English

@PeterAppel23 Only his last 15 games matter??? Easy to make a case when you handpick a small sample and ignore history. Theyre similar players, Volpe way more power 52 to 22.
If you think Caballero is a .380 hitter youre nuts... but you get to fan the Volpe hate flames
English

I don’t have a good answer for what to do with Anthony Volpe when he returns
Just Baseball@JustBB_Media
Jose Caballero’s last 15 games: .380 AVG 19 Hits 3 HR .426 OBP .600 SLG 1.026 OPS MASHING as the Yankees shortstop 🔥
English

@rmny1976 Jones is legit, dwarfs Williams HR total and like it or not, thats what they look at first but Im saying, everyone tries to make a case vs. the worst guy instead of the best guy. Compare to Mantle, Mays, Aaron not Baines, Raines, Oliva, etc.
Keep the Hall elite
English

I agree, but another comparison would be Andreu Jones
Jones had more power and was better defensively which is why he has the higher WAR.
Bernie was a better overall hitter, especially in the clutch. They had almost identical RBI numbers even though Jones played longer than Bernie.
Bernie had a higher career OPS and OPS+. Bernie also won 4 championships and is still the ML leader for RBI in the playoffs with 80 over the course of his career
The numbers for the most part are very similar both players should be in Cooperstown.

English

Bernie should be in the HOF
The fact he’s not and Harold Baines is a HOF is a complete joke.

Rob 🇺🇸 🗽🦮🐕🦺@rmny1976
Bernie was every bit as important as the other four. From 1994 to 2002 the lowest OPS Bernie produced in a year was .837 From 1996 to 2001 he had an OPS over .900 every year. All while playing gold glove defense. In 1998 on the greatest baseball team ever assembled he hit .339 with a .997 OPS. He only stuck out 81 times that year.
English

@MikeBartner No players preferred destination is the Islanders
English

@GeneroseJa56892 @JLas43_ They same accounts that were getting moist over his 5 spring training HRs are the same accounts demanding that he never plays again
English

@JLas43_ I'm old enough to remember when everyone said Volpe was the next Jeter and demanded his call up.
English

@NiceJackIn2026 And why wont he "change his approach???"
Thats the approach management wants him to gave
English

@JLas43_ Exactly. We have three full seasons’ worth of proof - Volpe is not worthy of an MLB starting job, he’s not going to improve, he’s not going to change his approach. Trade him.
English

@chipman88 @JLas43_ Jazz will ask for a ridiculous number so hes as good as gone
English

@ESPNNewYork @RealMichaelKay Sorry folks... youre Volpe hatred doesnt make Caballero Cal Ripken, no matter how hard you cry. The SS job is Volpe's to lose
English

Will Anthony Volpe be the starting shortstop when he returns? Aaron Boone says “we’ll see”.

@LuisDaz05416644 @YankeeLibrarian He gets on base, do I care if its a hit or a walk? Pete 👈🏼
"You do not"... OBP is almost 30%
English

@YankeeLibrarian This isn’t about projection is about results, a lead off hitting .154 ?
English

Trent Grisham is below the Mendoza line, but is making similar contact to last year.
He is walking at an absurd 18.2% clip, which is what Rickey Henderson did in '87, but the Yankees could use those hard-hit balls to drop in.
My piece on Grisham for SI! si.com/mlb/yankees/on…
English

@sethsurrett2 @YankeeLibrarian Its amazingly similar. The difference is you like Rice and think Dominguez makes the team if Grisham isnt signed so you hate on him.
English

@YankeeLibrarian Bro justifying someone batting under the Mendoza line is ridiculous. The season doesn’t end in April but your take is insane. Ben rice was unlucky and he was batting .230 this is different.
English

@OleTimeHardball He is in the Hall, God knows why. No, his numbers dont deserve it
English

.@JackCurryYES says that if all goes well, he expects this to be the rotation (in whatever order):
Fried
Schlittler
Cole
Rodón
Warren
Elmer and then Weathers would go to the bullpen.
When Jack speaks, listen.

English

@YankeeReport_ @JackCurryYES It’s going to be a 6 man and it couldn’t be more obvious. Rodon and Cole back from injury. Schlitter innings need to be kept down. Weathers injury prone in his career.
Fried
Cole
Schlittler
Rodon
Warren
Weathers
Elmer goes to AAA
