We have to face the pain caused by state failure/lack of state capacity in KE without looking for convenient scapegoats. Not "the middle class" which barely exists in Kenya. Not "millenials" or "Gen Z" because youth is a transitory state. Look in the mirror. What do you see?

It’s odd that EPRA is doing the same thing that it was mandated to stop: price gouging and promoting disparity for adulteration of fuel

To those dismissing odious debt as theory, history says otherwise. Mozambique challenged hidden loans in court. Ecuador audited and repudiated illegitimate debt. Iraq secured massive debt cancellation after Saddam. Cuba rejected colonial debt imposed without consent. South Africa resisted apartheid-era obligations tied to oppression. Odious debt is not fiction. It is a principle backed by precedent, law, and the sovereign right of people not to finance corruption, repression, and theft. Kenyans cannot be forced to repay debts they neither approved nor benefited from.

Notice the timing, just a year towards elections. The government wants an office they can walk into and demand suspension of all vocal accounts to suppress any real time information on their wrongdoings from reaching the international community.

Kenya has given Elon Musk’s X platform (formerly Twitter) a 3-month deadline to open a Nairobi office. The government says it could suspend X if the directive is not met.

I listened to Methu yesterday and he gave one of the clearest examples of how politicians view citizens in this country. Pawns in a numbers game. To them, politics isn’t about ideology or vision anymore, it’s simply "I have the numbers, therefore I deserve a seat at the table."

There’s something consistently unsettling about the way femicide is reported in the media. The victim is everywhere. Their name, face, photos shared and reshared, sometimes even in moments that strip away dignity. Meanwhile, the perpetrator is often blurred, unnamed or

The People’s President
The People’s President@bonifacemwangi·
Kenya had President Uhuru Kenyatta, who inherited billions of shillings, flourishing businesses, and hundreds of thousands of acres of land from his father, Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya’s first president. He also came to power and inherited a thriving economy. However, he destroyed the economy, borrowed recklessly, and directed much of that money into overpriced, unnecessary projects while stealing and creating even more wealth for his family. More scammers, thieves, rapists, drug dealers, and murderers were elected during Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency than at any other time in Kenya’s history. Muhoozi, the man-child, will complete the project started by Museveni, destroy Uganda completely, turn the country into a monarchy, and ensure that all Uganda’s wealth is essentially owned by the Museveni family.
Tibahikire Moses Kawooya@mokawooya

If Muhoozi Kainerugaba ever becomes president of Uganda, it won’t be business as usual. He grew up surrounded by wealth and privilege, so he’s unlikely to be impressed by money or shady deals to accumulate more wealth. He is an heir expected to inherit a $13 billion estate.
