Now you can take your Strawberry Rhubarb Shrub syrup and make a drink. We'll be mixing with vodka (or gin) and seltzer. Pics to come.

Shrub, step seven: Bottle and cool. We got exactly 5 cups out of this. No artificial color. A thing of beauty.

Shrub, step seven: Aaaaand strain. Best do this in a sink.

Shrub, step six: Might as well prepare the filter while it's simmering. Bowl, strainer, cheesecloth.

Shrub, step five: Also add two more cups of sugar. So you've got four cups each: rhubarb, strawberry, sugar, apple cider vinegar.

Shrub, step four: Hello, there, Mr. Four-Cups-Of-Apple-Cider-Vinegar! Simmer the fruit until rhubarb is all stringy.
