i was gonna say this. i just turn them down. if you're a streamer who cares a lot about your audio you've already adjusted your own mic to be a perfect level on your stream so i wouldn't expect someone to change their gain or something mid-stream, i just adjust until they're in line with everyone else. i also wouldn't be offended if someone mentions they're turning me down, i have no inside voice

Umm, no. Context and how you say things matter here. In general, if you’re in my VC or a guest in someone else’s, you need to understand that they control their stream. If you’re at 100% blowing everyone out of the water and either I or chat notices, I’m going to politely tell you I’m turning you down a bit. 😂 That’s common courtesy. We are adults. In your case, your friend was just flat out rude. That doesn’t make the act itself rude. Their delivery was the problem. There’s a huge difference. Adding: in most cases people don’t know they are that loud, so telling them is important.
