yes, cuz it's sustainable business with the fees, it also means airdrop is coming soon since the fees will drop the total volume (less arbitrage and wash trading for free) so they must act within weeks imo turning fees on is typically a move to raise more funds from investors... they did big volume numbers and investors were concerned "yea but 0 fees" now they turned fees on and will keep pushing volume until tge @mustafap0ly @PolymarketTrade

Today was a big day for Polymarket. They introduced fees and new referral program with some hints of airdrop. That's a lot of changes for one random monday. Are you satisfied with today's changes?

All good things must come to an end. I was an advocate for Polymarket for the sole reason that, without fees you could gamble and not be destined to lose long term. Now with these fees, the house has been introduced to the equation, the party that all gamblers despise. The referral program exists so all the “influencers” can act as an intermediary between new users (that will likely lose long term) and Polymarket, taking a cut of the fees they generate. So now I can lead lambs to their slaughter and profit in the process. I’m pretty undecided on doing so. Passive income and potential airdrop upside, but then I’m a sellout doing harm to the average person that reads my tweets. Curious what others think, do the fees ruin the platform as much as I think they do? Feels like the idea of “fair” or at least less exploitative gambling is dead, even if sharper users can still win.

I’ve analysed the situation and figured out what Polymarket has prepared for us on Monday I thought about what @Polymarket team may announce on Monday And I see 3 possible options here > 1-min markets launch > strategic partnership/funding round announcement > info about $POLY Btw, @mustafap0ly once said there would first be 1-min markets, and then a $POLY airdrop So we’ll probably see an announcement of one of the first two options Regardless of all the hype surrounding the possible airdrop announcement I wish we would have a market about it :)

@joselebetis2 Disagree. A token launch before World Cup draws mindshare. Being the most liquid market during the World Cup is a top prio. An unexpectedly large airdrop before the World Cup attracts liquidity in anticipation of a season 2.

Many people are speculating $POLY is the announcement but I think we’ll have to wait a bit more. I think $POLY gets launched around October. My reasoning: The World Cup will bring massive volume + hype , the perfect moment to announce the token and capture attention. But launching it right there wouldn’t make as much sense. There aren’t enough major events immediately after to sustain that level of activity. Instead, they can ride that momentum, keep testing out the L2/token infra, and launch closer to the U.S. midterms (when volume picks up again) That way, they hit the market with strong metrics (volume, revenue, user growth) right at launch. Just my opinion, but the timing feels very intentional. 👀🚀
