@TheHippyOfDeath @JasonKPargin I mean, is someone being a rotten evil piece of shit an issue for you? I realize you probably don't think you are one, but if you thought someone else was, would you be cool with them?

@JasonKPargin @JasonKPargin I followed you because I LOVED the John Dies at the End movie, and have bought and intend to read the books. I'm a big time, proud Trump and MAGA supporter. Is being a Trump supporter an issue with you? This poll question seems a touch bizarre. What's the point?

In real life, are you on relatively good terms with someone who is a Trump supporter? I don't necessarily mean best friends or anything, even just a cordial working relationship, or you say kind things to one another when you encounter them, etc.

Your character’s voice did not jump three octaves in shock. An octave is the difference between an alto sax and a bari sax. Three octaves is the entirety of Marvin Gaye’s vocal range. Your character’s voice jumped a perfect fourth at most, you rube

My favorite bit of acting is when an action movie shooter's gun runs out of ammo and they look at it confused, shaking it like, "Damn it, what's wrong with this contraption! Of all the times to stop working!" as if reloading isn't the most routine step in operating a gun

instead of arguing online that it’s unfair to be expected to do basic adult tasks, just feel inward shame and self-loathing about having trouble doing basic adult tasks. it’s not fun either, but it’s less annoying!

at the lab i acidentally dropped a reagent that costs more than me, my entire family tree, my neighborhood and possibly my entire state combined. it didnt break. thankfully. but for one moment i felt the fear of God that only an illiterate rural medieval peasant would feel

@GORMTHEOLD25 @GarrettPetersen The reason "i like big butts" was such a hit was because that wasnt the norm at the time. And there was also a big gap inbetween white and black people for acceptable body types.

This was actually a big problem in Germany in the 40s and 50s, because, and I'm not sure how well this is known outside the country, "Heil Hitler" did really for 12 years replace "Hello"/"Good Morning" and so on for pretty much the whole country. And people aren't that flexible.

That post from a few years ago where someone went "Heil Hitler! I must see this" still resonates in my head entirely due to the concept of giving a Heil Hitler like people say mashallah

@CypressDahlia We thought we'd get robots so rigidly logical that a single stray dumb thought would kill them and instead we got robots that almost exclusively say stupid nonsense even if you desperately try to walk through incredibly basic logic.

today on the streetcar the man sitting across from me ended what seemed like an important business call with “well, as snoopy would say: gawrsh!” then he frowned, looked at me, mouthed “goofy?”, I nodded, then he said “I’m just being goofy!” and hung up, and gave me a thumbs up

it's actually incredible how much kids just accept arbitrary rules. like our kid gets 5 candies on movie night because he's 5 years old and he's just like "i wish i could have more" and ur like "yeah :/" and then he just moves on? incredible
