We study grammar, build vocab, rack up app streaks… but still freeze when it’s time to speak. First language acquisition teaches us a lot about what we are doing wrong as adults 'learning' a second one. Would love your thoughts. linkedin.com/pulse/what-fir…

"We overestimate technology in the short run, underestimate it in the long run." Tesla is 100x ahead of every competitor in autonomous driving. Not because of better technology. But because they discovered something in 2016 that no one else saw coming:

I've taught myself enterprise sales from scratch over the past 6 months. Here are some of my top tips if you're a founder going from engineer/product mode to sales/marketing mode. 1. Be genuinely useful From the first touchpoint with a prospect, be as useful as possible. Tell them all the ways they can improve / help their process without you. Share some of the secret sauce you've learnt and how they can do it. Don't wrap "being useful" in a sales package. Once they see that you have their best interest in mind chances of being the product/person they choose to fix the problem will go through the roof. 2. People buy from people When you jump on that first or second/third call, always start with some niceties, ask them about their day/weekend and remember the details! If they told you on the first call that they were just about to go on holiday, bring it up on the next call. Building rapport is not a one-trick pony, it's a collection of lots of small, positive and mostly informal actions. 3. Remember you’re here to fix a problem for them You must stay focused on their problem - not your product. You might have 100 features but only demo the 2 or 3 that really fixes their problem. This goes back to my first point of being genuinely useful. Showing them features that aren't useful to them will work against you. At all times you must have their best interest in mind. People have a sixth sense for smelling bullshit or yet another copy-and-paste sales play. Be personal, be useful.

Rosehips exploding red in front of dead wood, winter food for birds and rodents. In the soil turned up by the root plate, bees nested over summer. Every metre of Whitewebbs crackles with untold stories of life. This is what we will lose if @SpursOfficial steal our park.

Hospitals are incredibly complex places and it’s easy to see why the @NHS is such a beast given how much care goes into looking after every single person who walks in. A huge thank you to @RoyalFreeNHS for taking such good care of my son 🙏🏼

@SpursOfficial Stay away from Whitewebbs It’s not ok. We’ve got to deal with 10K new homes - that is fine. Do not take our green space
