There's calculated risk in all of this, known ahead of time, and the least risk action above v1 is continuing. Even if you have info saying #2 is partial thrust, is that correct info?

@SafetySquintz @DJSnM Much higher odds of a better outcome. You should always be prepared to reject the takeoff. A crash on the ground while maximum braking is much better than crashing from the air. Pilot training needs to be fixed. There are absolutely situations where rejecting after V1 is correct.

@SafetySquintz @DJSnM They might have lived for the wrong reasons. Rejecting would have been an error. Lawyers would argue that they should have flown with partial thrust on #2 and avoided killing a baby off the end of the runway. They didn't have the information in time anyway.

@DJSnM Curious what would have happened if they had immediately cut power to the remaining two engines. Hindsight is 20/20 but it appears that they had a fair amount of run way in front of them. RIP
