@Lingopietv Hi! I can’t seem to find El Caso or The Case on the Lingopie app for Fire anymore? I noticed it’s still on my iPhone though.

So I know I haven’t tweeted for over a year but I couldn’t find a more appropriate place to tell you that I tried the McDonald’s triple pickle McCrispy and it sucked. They gave me three dinky slices of pickle and practically no sauce for the dry, burnt patty. @McDonaldsCanada

My mom ALWAYS put an orange in our stocking. We always complained about it and she would say “fruit in winter is rare, and you should remember that. That orange is to make you grateful for what abundance we have.” As an adult someone told me this is an Irish tradition, and that many families do it. No one else I know did this outside of my aunts and cousins. Anyone know more about this?

@MLautmer Super impressive! But they prob would have some exposure to the culture (like living abroad or marrying into the culture) to learn…

@EVanDyk @RM_Transit I’m going to venture for lunch this week. I saw at their A&W location that they had a mac & cheese.

@farahng @RM_Transit If you just want to fill your belly with a sandwich, they have a good variety. They’re sort of bland, but a lot better than Tim Horton’s or Subway.

Hey #langtwt! I have a trip to Japan coming up in April. I’m looking to learn some Japanese for travel. Any recommended resources?

@andymounthood That’s really good advice! Agreed that knowing key phrases will be more useful than reading. I will take a look at those resources. I forgot about Michel Thomas!

@farahng Audio courses by Paul Noble and Michel Thomas are excellent for learning how to form sentences and speak Japanese. JapanesePod101 is great for listening practice. Book2 is an audio phrase book with a lot of travel words and phrases.

@farahng @koufaxjp If you're used to using apps, Duolingo can help you adapt to the word order, but Mango Languages probably teaches more practical words and phrases, especially for travel. TripLingo is specifically designed to help travelers with languages.

@misojosgatos Hi Spence! I think I might try to learn as much hiragana and katakana before I go so I can at least read basic signage. I’m going with my parents and they know kanji because they’re Chinese so together we can piece things together lol Will check out the textbook!

@mellosemcor Whereas for us normies, we just settle with what we look like and focus on other things because getting super hot is simply unattainable and not the best use of our time.

@mellosemcor Here’s my theory: hot people know they are hot but they also know there is someone hotter than them. But if they just try harder, they can be as hot as the next person. So there’s an endless pressure to get even hotter.
