Kalshi Prepares Entry Into Crypto Derivatives Market. According to a report from The Information, the company is exploring the launch of cryptocurrency-linked perpetual futures, including contracts tied to assets such as Bitcoin. Unlike traditional futures, perpetual contracts do not expire, allowing traders to maintain leveraged positions indefinitely. While this structure can amplify gains, it also significantly increases risk exposure. If launched, the move would mark a major shift for Kalshi from short-term event contracts into continuous financial derivatives markets. Notably, the company operates under the oversight of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This could potentially give it a regulatory advantage over offshore competitors in the crypto derivatives space.
