@blake_vince We’ve been using Prominex or truslate ahead of canola, it’s a no go with infinity.

All you wheat aficionado’s, experts, gurus, specialists, agronomists, consultants,record holders what is the herbicide of choice if you intend to have a leguminous cover crop post harvest. Personally, I have had a less than perfect experience with InfinityFX on multiple years.

@jcurtis7ac I thought if they manufacture below a certain number of vehicles they were exempt from emissions.

How is that these older engine designs ok to sell in these new tractors? I thought the Government Emissions standards made them obsolete? Whats the story ? Will those simple dirt cheap vehicles become a thing here too? cleantechnica.com/2026/04/22/urs…

@DCHighlander @LMcLachlan60 I had a 20 acre patch in a 70 acre field I was going to rip up last year it was about a 60% stand, yield was only 20% less than the rest of the farm, it’s amazing how it fills in

@LMcLachlan60 What % would you say those poor areas represent? Photos are a tough guide. That looks like a good crop to me. A few gaps are normal. From those photos, I would giver some fertilizer and not look back.

Some really good. Some bad. Going to have to make the call on this one soon. I’m running on zero experience with this crop.

@MdMcLean1 @WheatPete The canopy is so thick I don’t see how anything can grow underneath it does pretty good at choking out weeds.

Can you under seed winter Canola with red clover like you can with winter wheat? Or does that not work?@WheatPete

Looks like my ATS settled out pretty good over the winter. We tried a blow gun on it and nothing, stuff is pretty hard. It’s in the shop now and warmed up. Any suggestions on how to deal with this would be appreciated

Toying with some VR seed scripts today for beans on some of our highly variable ground, sharp knolls to loam bottoms. Looking at ⬆️ pops in the knolls and ⬇️ in the bottoms. 140-180k pop spread. Semi bush varieties. Haven’t done vr beans on this variable ground before. Thoughts?

@Shawridgefarm @MdMcLean1 Depending on the farm, have a 3rd rate at 200 in between, for the in between ground

@Shawridgefarm @MdMcLean1 I’ve been doing it a few years 250k on knolls and 150k in the bottoms, works pretty well, I think we could go lower on bottom ground but we don’t have white mould issues on our ground so it would just be to save more seed, but it has almost eliminated our replanting on knolls

So, it struck me while picking this beautiful crop of corn tonight, how much of this production has been WASTED by our current federal government? Any guesses on buschels per acre down the tax toliet?

@woody_VA A couple of years ago I grazed volunteer canola for a month on half a farm, you could see to the line the soybeans were better where I grazed the following year. As Karl mentioned though the compaction was horrible could also tell to the line when pulling ripper.

Some Sunday afternoon pondering Does the benefit to the soil by intragrating grazing livestock come from the livestock or the fact that there is an increase in the perennial crops grown on the farm?

@DonLunn @woody_VA @MdMcLean1 @Campbellgrain @DozzzzzEric Does not matter the speed at that point. Commercial vehicles must be saftied and licensed no matter the speed. Only ones exempt are vehicle of husbandry but only if vehicle is altered from original use. Smv isn't considered altered.

Just because a tractor has the ability to run 40Km does mean it has to run 40Km

Winter canola going in today, best part of a crop that is in the ground for 11 months is the roots!
