The minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.25 an hour. A regular Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel at the mall is $7.29. Imagine telling someone an hour of their time is worth less than a pretzel.

$7.25 an hour is about $14,000 a year. No one can survive on that. People can barely survive on double that. We raised the minimum wage in Illinois. It's long overdue everywhere else.

No. Why should a McDonald’s worker earn enough to buy everything they need? These jobs are for highschool and college kids and people who want an extra job. There are so manny jobs that pay well that are available. It’s not my job to pay extra taxes so your lazy ass can live comfortably

I pay what a job is worth. If a job isn't worth the minimum wage I eliminate the job or add that jobs responsibilities into another job. Most of my employees make many times minimum wage. I don't need a federal government telling me what to pay my employees. If it's not worth the money I don't hire the employee. If its not worth the money the employee doesn't take the job. The free market is much more efficient than federal central planning ever will be.

@mcsquared34 That’s a more risk v reward issue rather than the government is taking your money issue. Remember while a company may make money off your labor, they may also lose money on your labor. They risk assets, cover overhead, and if everything goes to shit they lose everything.
