Ayton is better than all of those guys and was priced appropriately as a backup (and an easy value on that deal).

I think the Lakers see something special in Cameron Carr and Adou Thiero which makes them want to develop them instead of bringing in an older vet wing player who will only be here for a few years.
The winning formula in the NBA is to develop your young talent.
Carr (6’5) & Thiero (6’8) were the most athletically gifted players in the previous two NBA drafts. Drafting them in back to back years was a specific choice.

He's actually on a positive developmental trajectory, and anyone who actually knows anything about basketball knows that.
He's gonna be an NBA role player, and a solid one. None of which would have changed had he stayed in college.

But his dad forced him into the league– for dad‘s own “legacy“ agenda – and now Bronny is stuck where he doesn’t belong.
