Chuck, you are a putz. You had complete control in Washington and failed to deliver anything on SALT. Not $1 more. Nothing. Nada. Zip. We are delivering a 4x increase on 🧂 and providing real tax relief to the middle class. After 50 years, it’s time for you to retire.
Chuck Schumer@SenSchumer

This so-called SALT deal is a humiliating failure for NY House Republicans. Donald Trump came to the Capitol to intimidate them and in less than 24 hours they have all bowed to their king. Their capitulation to Trump on SALT is a slap in the face to Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and hardworking, middle-class families across New York.

@lawler4ny They want to hear answers to the question asked, not avoidance with pivots to what you want to say, which is the same canned misleading info spouted from town hall to town hall, & tv appearance to tv appearance. We pay your salary. You work for us, not Individual 1.

These folks don’t want to hear answers. They want to come and protest and try to silence debate and discussion. Text CRAZY to 85007 to support our campaign to keep the majority.

My Democratic colleagues behavior during last night’s joint address was a new low for political discourse. They talk about “preserving democracy” but refused to engage in even the most basic level of civility last night. They did not escort the President into the chamber. They refused to applaud the President, the First Lady, and the Cabinet. They held signs, hissed, yelled, stood in protest, and more. They refused to stand and applaud for a child with cancer who was appointed to the Secret Service. They refused to stand and applaud for a young man accepted into the United States Military Academy at West Point. They refused to stand and applaud for the mothers of children murdered by illegal immigrants. They refused to stand and applaud for the wife of a slain police officer. They refused to stand and applaud for an American released from captivity. And when it comes to policy, they refused to stand and applaud for securing the border, deporting criminal aliens, taking on the drug cartels and labeling them terrorist organizations, lowering taxes and ending tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security, securing historic investments in the US, unleashing American energy, tackling childhood cancer and other diseases, strengthening our military and ending the war in Ukraine. If they wonder why they lost in November, this is why. The level of hatred, vitriol, and disdain for the American people and those with whom they disagree is truly shocking. Agree or disagree with President Trump; Like or hate President Trump; Support or oppose President Trump; that was a moment to show unity in purpose and humility, grace, and civility in the face of defeat. Sadly, it was not meant to be.

I have written to @potus requesting an emergency disaster declaration for Kentucky due to the severe weather and impacts across our state. The declaration would make federal funding available to affected areas, helping us better respond and support Kentuckians affected. (1/2)

Dozens of Alaskans – potentially over 100 in total – are being fired as part of the Trump administration’s reduction-in-force order for the federal government.   Many of these abrupt terminations will do more harm than good, stunting opportunities in Alaska and leaving holes in our communities. We can’t realize our potential for responsible energy and mineral development if we can’t permit projects. We will be less prepared to manage summer wildfires if we can’t support those on the front lines. Our tourism economy will be damaged if we don’t maintain our world-class national parks and forests.    I share the administration’s goal of reducing the size of the federal government, but this approach is bringing confusion, anxiety, and now trauma to our civil servants—some of whom moved their families and packed up their whole lives to come here. Indiscriminate workforce cuts aren’t efficient and won’t fix the federal budget, but they will hurt good people who have answered the call to public service to do important work for our nation.   My staff and I are in close touch with agency and department officials, trying to get answers about the impact of these terminations. Our goal is to forestall unnecessary harm—for people and Alaska’s federal priorities—but the response so far has been evasive and inadequate.

Governor Hochul might be the world's worst liar - everyone knows she and Hakeem Jeffries were plotting to leave Elise Stefanik's House seat open in perpetuity. Then they got caught. Now, it's time to hold her accountable.

@MikeSington A wake up moment for journalism across the board who made elections into horse races, ditched serious investigative journalism, normalized trump & authoritarian desires, avoided/ignored our decline into fascism. More interested in $$$ than doing their jobs as the 4th estate.
