In the barren desert, where dreams turn to dust, Five souls met their mechanised fate, their hopes crushed. Sub-Saharan Africans, seeking a better life, Caught in a web of struggle, pain, and strife. In the no man's land, where borders divide and humans politicised, The flame of their existence began to subside. Driven from Tunisia, their dreams shattered, Left to wither, their lives no longer mattered. Terminal dehydration, a cruel, tragic end, Their pleas for mercy, the desert did not lend. Pushed aside, forgotten, their stories untold, Young lives extinguished, in the heat's stronghold. Oh, how their potential, like embers, did burn, Yet denied recognition, they will never return. A testament to the price some are made to pay, As nations seek to keep hope and dreams at bay. Their lives unjustly stolen, at such a high cost. May their tragic fate ignite a flame of change, To bridge the divide and humanity rearrange. For the five Sub-Saharan Africans, we mourn, In a world that failed them, let compassion be reborn. May their spirits find solace, in a world yet to be, Where recognition and justice reign for all to see. @Yambiodavid Photo credit: 📸 @LibyaRC
