It’s been a while since I last posted, but I’ve seen the stories about greyhound racing. I’ve been with my owner since I was a pup, born at @rhymeswitsnoopy, trained by @JimDaly5, I raced over 40 times and loved every moment of it. Happily retired with my loving family.

@HeatherBo63 They are lovely aren't they. The M&S one is very nice too.

@FOBRacing @SteveNashPhotos So sorry, it's absolutely heartbreaking. Lost my 9 year old ex racer to osteosarcoma 2 months ago. 😢
English

2/3 Absolutely gutted that he didn’t get the long and happy retirement that he deserved
A complete warrior on the track and he gave us many incredible days out around the country
We’ll never have another one like Steve

Hungry Husband is still down with his bruised mummy ..
But she had more tests yesterday and a CT scan ..
And thankfully, everything seems fine, thank God..
He’s going to stay down till tomorrow late evening time so still just the dog and I at home
I had a roll of ready-made pastry in the fridge so I’ve made the most delicious quiche..
So this is our Saturday night dinner in the wilds of Suffolk..
YAY or NAY my Twits
For a hand made quiche..
While you are still pondering …
I’ll put the kettle on.

@JubileeKennels @TheOracleBen The best decision I ever made was to rehome my beautiful hounds.

Have you considered or been looking into rehoming an ex racing greyhound? We get many emails/messages asking for the basics so here is a rundown -
We are based in Workington, on the Western edge of the Lake District and can home all over the North of England and Southern Scotland
All of our dogs come spayed or castrated, fully vaccinated, with a lead and collar, ongoing food and as much help and advice as needed
They make fantastic pets and can generally settle into most situations, in the main they are great with other breeds of dogs, children (we are happy to home to families) and even occasionally cats!
The Greyhound Trust homing fee is £250
Our homing process always starts with a home assessment. This can be done in person or virtually depending on your location, and is a great way for us to find out what we need to about you and for you to ask all of the questions that you have!
Once complete, it’s generally a visit to the kennels to meet some of our dogs and find a hound to fall in love with. We generally work on a trial basis where you take your chosen hound to your home and let them settle in before any paperwork is filed, adoptions only go through once everyone is happy
You can always see a real time view of the dogs that we have available for homing here -
greyhoundtrust.org.uk/home-a-greyhou…
We can be contacted in many ways, by a message to this page, a WhatsApp/Telephone on 07891663814 or email at cumbria@greyhoundtrust.org.uk
The @greyhoundtrust also have branches all over the country who may be better situated depending on location and work on the same basis as us!

💔❤️ ALICE WAS RUSHED TO THE VETS AT 6AM THIS MORNING ❤️💔
Our hearts were in our mouths this morning…
Thankfully, the amazing team at My Vet Lucan acted quickly and gave Alice an injection to help start labour. Without it, she would have needed an emergency C-section. Our poor girl 💔
So far, four puppies have been safely born… but Alice is absolutely exhausted. She’s still not finished, there are at least four more puppies to come. Please keep her in your thoughts, she is fighting so hard ❤️
A huge thank you to our MLHR dog manager Alex, who has stayed right by her side through everything. That love and support means more than words can say ❤️ they are still at the vets.
It’s impossible not to think… what if Alice was still where we rescued her from?
She would have been alone, in pain, and very possibly wouldn’t have survived. That reality breaks us and fuels our anger for all the animals out there still suffering without help 💔💔💔
But for Alice, that life is behind her now.
She is safe, loved, and protected forever ❤️
Come on Alice… we’re all rooting for you ❤️🐾
Please DONATE, WE NEED YOU, ALICE NEEDS YOU ❤️

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

After a special week with my oldest and closest friend, I arrived back home this afternoon. Felt a pang of anxiety at the thought of being back here, but made certain plans about moving.
Anyhoo….brought all my bags in and flung all the windows open to air the place. Knock at my front door. Opened the door to the most handsome man I’ve seen in years. He said ‘hi, my name’s Paul and I’ve just moved into the house facing your back garden’. He went on to mention some work that needs doing to the shared wall.
You know that thing where you have an instant connection with someone, but not a fancying way…? More like you’ve met before?
He’s divorced (a year ago, he told me… I didn’t ask, honest!) and I’m guessing late 50s. Two grown up daughters in London.
When he was leaving, I secretly hoped nosy and unkind neighbours could see hot man leaving my house.
5 sodding years I’ve lived here and all I’ve ever seen are crusty old men.
Am already imaging life in the Tuscan countryside with this silver fox.
🤣🤣 Bridget Jones moment.

BENJI has been rehomed now!
He was so popular when he embraced our website, lots of enquiries for this lovely boy.
Alice and Scott from Cupar, Fife got in touch and offered Benji a new home.
Our home checker soon went and met with Alice on Friday 13th March to carry out their home check and find out a bit more about them and what sort of home and life they could offer Benji.
Alice was very excited at the prospect of offering Benji a new home and our home checker spent some time going over the process, reason for rehoming and finding out more about Alice and Scott.
Benji needed a new home through no fault of his own, his previous owners loved him very much but severe life events meant they couldn't look after Benji anymore.
We promised the previous owners that we would do everything in our power to ensure that Benji got a new home that suited his needs (This is always so important to us, it needs to suit the animals needs).
We also promised that they'd be kept up to speed with photos and updates anytime they like.
Once the home check was completed for Benji, our home checker submitted the report to the previous owner for their decision. Although a heart breaking decision, they knew it was right for Benji and Benji was rehomed.
Alice sent us an update with some photos, she said:
''We lost our Collie last year and have found it so hard, although we still haven't moved on we decided we were ready to start pouring our love into another dog.
When we found out about Benji he had a lot of similar traits to the Collie we lost and we thought we'd see if he was still available and needing a home, thinking we were probably too late.
Today I picked Benji up and although it's no doubt overwhelming for him he's got such a fantastic nature and he's already captured my heart, I'm excited to help him settle and feel safe and loved and become adventure buddies. Absolutely delighted to meet him''. - Alice and Scott.
We wish Benji all the very best in his new home, we know that Alice and Scott have very kind and loving hearts and will love Benji as much as his previous family did.
Happy new home Benji.
If you need help or assistance to rehome please email info@help2rehome.com or visit our website help2rehome.com
We work for owners to ensure their pets needs are met and homes are found which they are happy with.

Tomorrow we’ll be at the Scottish Parliament for the final vote to #BanGreyhoundRacing in Scotland which will also stop any new tracks opening. We lost Harris when his back leg totally collapsed due to a racing injury sustained when he was 2yo. He was the inspiration for & the reason I started this group. I’ll be holding his name tag tight in my hand tomorrow. #Harris ❤️🩹
