I’ve been watching the campaign to #RenewTheAcolyte since the beginning at first with curiosity and then with an ever increasing sense of awe. It’s beginning to remind me of another campaign to renew an inclusive little show that was canceled in 1969 due to low viewership. That show was called Star Trek. It was extremely progressive for its time with the first black woman in a non stereotypical role and even had the first interracial kiss on television. Calls to renew the show after its cancellation from fans have led to it becoming the worldwide cultural phenomenon that it is today. Never give up you acolytes, you are making history.
