Best thing UEFA did was getting rid of teams getting relegated into the next tournament. A story of Rayo Vallecano being in a European semi final is so much more interesting than some fallen giant trying to redeem a shit season.
Phil Kitromilides@PhilKitro

Rayo Vallecano are in a European semi final. They dont sell online tickets. The stadium often doesnt have running water in the toilets. The pitch is a joke. The club shop looks like a teenager's cupboard. Their training ground is in pieces. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE MIRACLE!!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

@Chief71Sosa @s8mb If every demographic group has an equal proportion of highly skilled individuals, why don't the women and minorities band together to make a company that outcompetes the biased one? Surely a company that refuses to pull from over half of the talent pool would be disadvantaged.

Publicly traded companies in Britain must have, or “explain to the regulator” why they do not have: - A minimum of 40% women on their board of directors - A woman CEO, chairman of the board, CFO and/or Senior Independent Director - A board member who is an ethnic minority Why is anybody confused about why so few companies want to list here and so few promising startups scale up here? Would you agree to put people in charge of your company on the basis of their sex or race in order to meet a diversity quota? These rules were brought in by the Conservative Party in 2022, BTW.

I am loathe to defend Dubai Enjoyers™️ but it's interesting how evacuating Afghans, and accommodating them at great cost, is "the right thing to do" but evacuating brits who just want to pay less tax is not.

🚨 WATCH: Ed Davey says British tax exiles in Dubai should now be made to pay tax in the UK "As we protect them, it's only right for tax exiles to start paying taxes to fund our Armed Forces just like the rest of us do"

I don’t think Rupert himself or the policy below is in any way racist. A lot of the countries we take people from enforce harsher measures than this, yet we never label them “far right.” It only seems so radical because we have become so weak on expectations for migrants we take
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10

Restore Britain is abundantly clear about what we stand for on immigration. THIS is our position. I urge you to read, and share if you agree. Every illegal migrant will be deported. No questions asked. The boats will stop. Our 100+ page policy plan is produced and ready to go. It can be done. My position is well understood on this. Legal migrants will be expected to work, contribute, speak our language and respect our way of life. If they don't do that, they'll be asked to leave. If they hate us, and wish to do us harm - they will leave. We support net negative immigration. Taking ultra-skilled migrants who will give far more than they take in small and manageable numbers, but shutting off entire visa routes from countries that are proven to supply us with miscreants and takers. The Red List. Those foreign individuals who are here, who work hard, who contribute to society will absolutely be welcome. But we will not allow millions of foreigners, mainly from the third world, to take the piss. If a foreign national is unable to support themselves financially, it is not our problem. They should leave. We should not pay for their benefits, their social housing, their NHS care. Again - it is not our problem. They will go home. Millions will go. Firm, but fair. Dual nationals who want to blow us up will have their British citizenship stripped, and deported. If they rape young girls, they will have their citizenship stripped, and deported. The spouse visa system will be eased, to allow citizens of non-red list countries to join their British partners. There are underhand attempts to misrepresent our position. Ignore it. Send them this post. We speak for ourselves, and only ourselves. This is not controversial. This is certainly not 'neo-nazi' as Reform claim. This is the position of the vast majority of the British people, and they finally have a political party representing that view now. Restore Britain.

@7NewsMelbourne @paul_dowsley I would have preferred if security had checked on the bloke who copped a chair to the scone than laugh at someone who's been injured, despite him being a difficult customer. Not very professional.

@felixdechow @thedimitri I mean, the majority of fraud is committed by white citizens, not immigrants. So, I don’t really think about it. White people have been stealing my money since I first started paying taxes.

@thedimitri I mean, my wife and I work 40 hours a week to provide for our son. We are grown adults. I ALSO could not give a fuck about illegal immigrants, and think that caring about it is a clear sign you don’t actually care about the real problems.

Maybe I’m just old school, but I hate the new Champions League format. The old group stage... home and away vs the same 3 teams... built some actual rivalry, especially if you got drawn with the same team in back-to-back years. You learned the matchups, you dreaded the away trip, you circled the “must win” spots. Now it just feels so random. You get an epic match between two teams and you can't look forward to another one. 24 of 36 teams moving on from the Group Stage feels like you can still get rewarded for playing like trash. I'm not a fan. Am I alone?

@MajorGrubert @jackmrankin Advocacy for terrorism & murder is not a "political opinion" and "freedom of expression" wasn't meant to protect it. It's the rhetoric of an extremist ideologue and should find no safe space in a civilised society.

He’s just not British, is he? Alaa Abd El-Fattah. That’s what it comes down to. The state owes its citizens basic consular support, even if they’ve unsavoury views, but this sticks in the craw (understatement) because he’s not one of us. We need to work out the mechanism by which the political activists in the Whitehall machine contrived to award him citizenship in 2021 when he was in an Egyptian prison, because his grandmother gave birth here while studying. This has nothing to do with Britain or the British government. He hates us. Clearly a broken system. Dismantle it. He is only British in the administrative sense: A passport, handed out like confetti, I don’t care about. No one thinks he is British, including him. Strip it. If we’re not firm on this, then the broad understanding that we always offer consular support to our own, regardless of views, will fall apart. We should do the same to those whom do not integrate, contribute and commit heinous crimes. The powers exist. They sit with the Home Secretary. Use them.
