In the 1990s, Seinfeld episodes typically ran 25 minutes with 5 minutes for ads. Since then, re-runs of the show have been sped up ~7.5%. Why? TV sitcom runtime changed to 22 minutes with 8 minutes for ads. So, networks sped it up in syndication to fit in more commercials.
