@semdzh @daarkeae I believe that nobody loves React. People are just using it because the community built around it.

TanStack Start feels so much better to use than Next.js, it's insane.

💰 This guy walks into Pawn Stars dead serious and asks for $1 MILLION for a rare Funko Pop with the original golden ticket from Willy Wonka… Rick is stunned and asks the expert if the seller is crazy or if he is. The expert says a similar one just sold for $250k — but that one didn’t include the golden ticket. He says to the right buyer, it could actually be worth more than what the seller is asking for. Rick politely tells the guy that his asking price is a little high right now 😂 I can't imagine paying a million for a Funko Pop, can you?

@geniusman16 @no_caprate @end3of6days9 you are right that things paired together (especially if they were originally together) can be valued more but the example you gave is awful lol

@pyrons_ @housecor @jarredsumner this is the man thing really hurting adoption, otherwise I imagine a lot of people would have replaced their jest test runners with bun already

Bun test is crazy fast, but unfortunately we just switched back to Vitest. Why? Because Bun has an awful mocking bug: Mocks leak. A mock in one test "leaks" and applies to all tests. Reported in 2024 and still not fixed. Shame since Bun test is great otherwise. github.com/oven-sh/bun/is…

@MAXCL0UT @housecor dosnt work, theres lots of github issues around this that are open. resetting mocks seems to work with spyOn but not mock.module

@razRBCHK @nextjs you specifically said "nobody use React anymore" not Next lol. Funny enough though, next still beats all those other smaller libraries too, feel free to check yourself on npmtrends

@razRBCHK @nextjs Devs are moving away from react. The reason it's growing is the slop vibe code.

what large features should I run claude in a loop to try adding to bun constraints: - must have a large test suite with positive & negative tests that verify it works - must have strong evidence of being something people want & would use bun for

@MitchKarajohn @leerob Yeah this is a bit confusing considering Cursor rules have those properties (i.e. globs in the frontmatter) to conditionally run them. Seems like they should almost remove that config and just point people towards skills if they need to conditionally run rules

@leerob Oook, so that was it; conditional rules are effectively skills, by their definition. This clears things up, thanks! As a closing note, I'll nudge you again about globally accessible rules from ~/.cursor/rules, like skills, so that we don't need to copy them on every project 👀

Rules, commands, MCP servers, subagents, modes, hooks, skills... There's a lot of stuff! And tbh it's a little confusing. Here's what you need to know (and how we got here).

@ThePrimeagen Do you think we start seeing open source projects switch to licenses that would explicitly refuse usage by LLMs (maybe allow with a tip)?

I'll say it again, I think this AI cycle we are in is a net negative on society A man/team that has made the web significantly more pleasant as a platform for many people and spent years doing so for free has AI effectively destroy the business model by first taking his work And this is how a member of the community responds. Real sad times IP theft is real and I personally think that the C-suite of these current companies deserve jail time for the level of theft they enabled

@AdamRackis Okay, I will give you this makes him a dictator, falsifying narrow victory in an election. Should have gone for complete victory, but w.e his choice. Is America arresting every leader who has tampered with elections? you believe there will now be free(of CIA) elections there?

@vlucas @BudgetSheet @bunjsproject Was the issue you ran into with Bun just to do with mock.module not being hoisted like Jest mocks are (before imports)? I also ran into an issue where Bun mock.module from one test could affect another test running in parallel.

I spent the past few nights moving the entire @BudgetSheet test over to @bunjsproject after hitting issues with some upcoming feature releases and Jest configs. Some compat stuff missing, but now the whole suite runs ~10x faster with no issues whatsoever.
