Watching Fox News assure viewers the Iran war is going SUPER well and Trump is a total stud is like watching the same network assure viewers that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election and Trump was the winner.

The No Kings protests have dispersed at this time and all traffic closures have been lifted.  We had tens of thousands of people across all five boroughs peacefully exercising their first amendment rights, and the NYPD made zero protest-related arrests.

I don’t know if Flynn is guilty. I didn’t follow this. Insinuating a guilty plea has anything to do with guilt reflects a privileged disconnect from how the system works. That strain of white liberal privilege just oozes from this reporting. People plead to reduce risk, trading uncertainty and costs they can’t afford for predictability.

Can’t I simply not know because I haven’t spent time researching it? What obligates me to? Flynn is from RI, but his federal issues aren’t in my realm of interest as they relate to state policy. I do have an opinion on the criminal justice system, which is why I object to treating guilty pleas as proof of guilt. That’s typically a progressive position, so it’s odd to argue about it with me. I tried to separate Flynn from the broader principle and we should agree on it. Bringing the blight and absolute hypocrisy that is Vic into RI doesn’t leave a positive impression of Flynn for me, but that’s an unrelated issue.
