You can tell from the cheering on the timeline that many people are long oil and energy because it’s the obvious trade. No one believes Trump, and no one believes Iran will relinquish control of the Strait easily. My guess is that as long as Iran holds the Strait markets should continue to decline, but I do believe there are other factors at play in the markets right now, such as private credit.
