its exponentially more difficult to build an agent that trades memecoins than prediction markets or perps.
memecoins rely largely on network effects for price action. a strong narrative historically has little effect on price unless the right people are amplifying it. whereas perps/prediction markets trade entirely on publicly accessible information.
with lowcaps, price action IS the catalyst. the coin goes up because the right wallets bought, and others buy because its going up. there's no underlying event to model.
the way i see it, the main way your agent will be able to compete with humans trading memecoins is by giving it access to your private groups (read-only.)
but even this has a ceiling. by the time someone posts a ticker and "aped" in a chat, their wallet has already bought. the message in the group is an advertisement.
the stronger alternative here is a traditional method made more effective via ai: wallet tracking. if you arent in a group with @frankdegods or @0xuberM, you would need to have access to their wallets to know what they are trading, this is effectively just a hidden layer on top of private social.
and yes, tools like @tryfomo and @kolscan surface public wallet data, but most influential traders buy privately first. public wallets are just the illusion of alpha.
this feels like the obvious next step for @fomoltapp. tools that let your agent trade like a human. but not just any human, the ones that are actually printing. high frequency wallet tracking that can beat obfuscation via fresh wallets, routers, and other methods.
most copy trade bots use basic address matching. an agent that can cluster wallets by behavioral patterns, timing, and funding source has a sharper edge. the harder this is to do, the fewer people are doing it and the longer it persists as an edge.
the surface level meta is cooked. the edge has moved entirely to execution speed on social signals, which is exactly where an agent should be operating.
