Apparently, there used to be some issues with Blender’s Grease Pencil when drawing long, continuous lines. This was fixed in Blender 5.1, so I decided to give it a try and draw something using a really long one. One drawing, one stroke — 53,261 pts. #greasepencil #blender3d

@xanzuls @FrancisJasmin2 @CourtoisDamien @Blender Note that they still don't have an influence over what gets developed by the foundation. They can hire their own developers to contribute to an area (and they do!). But that's very different from "paying for a feature".

Grease Pencil in Blender 5.0 gets a neat upgrade! ✨
Change corner types on strokes, just like in Illustrator, and SVG export now supports Bézier, NURBS & Catmull-Rom curves.
An improvement that will delight many! 🎨

This is only about single ID data size. Not file size.

@thomas__marcos What takes for an object to use a data-block over 2GB!?
What kind of polygon count are we talking about!?
I have many files passing the 2Gb... including textures... but I guess it doesn't count that way right?

"Whether a socket is grayed out is not exposed in the Python API yet. That will be done separately."

@ManuManellopgar Oh no I meant is there a property in the bpy api attached to the socket that toggles true/false depending on if the socket is gray or not. There must be some data that exists so the UI can draw the text and panels, but I am wondering if it is exposed via the API to users.

hey #b3d people I've been having this issue with grease pencil and haven't been able to figure out whats the setting im missing: viewport to the left, render to the right. as you can see in the viewport the gp is ocluded by the cube but not in the render no sir.
