This response is deeply disingenuous: the pushback wasn’t because their criticism was “hurtful” or “insensitive,” but because they were perfectly fine offending some religions—but not others. As I predicted a few years ago: when their hypocrisy is called out, many leftists won’t start mocking Islam just as hard as they mocked Christianity—they will simply stop mocking Christianity as well, under the guise of "respect for all religions". Call them equal-opportunity cowards.

The craven hypocrisy: gleefully smashing statues of Jesus and Mary on public broadcast, but not of Mohammed, because that would be "inappropriate" or "insensitive". Isn’t the progressive principle supposed to be “don’t punch down”? Well, Christianity is very much down and on the ropes—it’s perfectly safe to mock Christians because there’s no real risk of retaliation. But if you mock Islam, you literally have to fear for your life. You have to go into hiding. In a very real sense, Muslim fanatics wield POWER, having successfully imposed their blasphemy laws on the rest of society, even on the "brave" iconoclasts of Belgian public radio. P.S. Ironically, they seem to be clueless that Muslims worship Jesus and Mary as well. Jesus is one of the most revered prophets in the Koran. How "inappropriate". Oops.

Een moeder uit Gaza brengt haar kind naar een hospitaal in Israël voor een behandeling die zijn leven redde. Zo kan hij een martelaar (shahid) worden tegen Israël om te sterven voor Jeruzalem. "We roepen van vreugde en vieren het als één van ons sterft als martelaar. Voor ons is het martelaarschap een belangrijke zaak." En dan met de glimlach: "Het leven is niet kostbaar." Wat doe je als je moet vechten tegen een volk met die ingesteldheid dat gezworen heeft alle Joden te vermoorden? Het is gemakkelijk om vanuit het veilige Westen dan met de vinger te wijzen naar Israël en te beweren dat er een "genocide" in Gaza heeft plaatsgevonden. Zonder zich rekenschap te geven van de rol van de martelaren in dit conflict. Wat ze zegt stemt 100 % overeen met wat de leiding van Hamas al meermaals voor de camera heeft gezegd.

In the interview (right there in the hospital), she openly says she'd rather he grow up to become a "martyr" (die in jihad/terrorism against Jews) than die from illness. She wants him healthy... so he can blow himself up in a crowded Israeli place, maybe even the same hospital that saved him. She explains: Allah obligates every Muslim to wage jihad and embrace martyrdom. Unlike Jews and Christians who mourn dead children, Muslims rejoice when their kids are martyred in holy war, because Allah guarantees them paradise. This isn't fringe. It's the raw ideology fueling the conflict: gratitude for mercy twisted into a desire for future violence. Human life saved by Israelis, only to be sacrificed against them. That's the tragic, twisted reality.

NIETS begrijp je ervan, als je zo reageert. Het punt is niet dat je religies niet mag bespotten (natuurlijk mag dat!), het punt is dat je álle religies moet (durven te) bespotten. Toch logisch.

Zowel in België als in Europa zijn er 5 prioriteiten. 1. Ontwikkel veel sneller - op een paar maanden als dat kan in de plaats van op 10 jaar nu - nieuwe ontginningen van energie en heropen oude ontginningen. 2. Robotiseer de maakindustrie en haal de massa industrie terug naar Europa. 3. Dereguleer fors. 4. Reduceer de administratieve overheid met 80 % door gebruik van computers, IT en AI. 5. Bereid de economie voor op een dalende bevolkingsaantal door zwaar in te zetten op groei. Dan krijgen we een betaalbaar overheidsapparaat en zijn we minder afhankelijk van schurkenstaten. Onze samenleving krijgt een heel nieuw elan.

Mensen volgen goede AI 93% van de tijd. Hun accuraatheid stijgt dan 46% -> 71%. Maar met sléchte AI volgden ze nog steeds 80% vd tijd. Hun accuraatheid viel terug tot 32%, slechter dan met AI. Dit was een bijzonder pijnlijk fragment. Als minister ga ik niet op de stoel van de VRT zitten: de omroep heeft redactionele autonomie. Maar autonomie ontslaat niemand van verantwoordelijkheid of respect. Goed dat op het einde ook wordt erkend dat men hier beter had moeten nadenken. Bezint eer ge begint. En ja, met alle religies moet kunnen gelachen worden.

The blast wave shattered windows in the buildings, including in the maternity hospital. During the alarm, two women were giving birth in the basement of the medical facility.
