Honestly the Airs are more than capable. I was editing on a MacBook Air M1, 8 GB, 512 GB storage, for about two years. I was able to run Final Cut Pro on it no problem with Red Raw footage and a slew of codecs and it was very capable for video editing. Sure when it came to exporting it was a problem but for the most part editing was fairly buttery smooth if you were just doing simple stuff, which honestly a lot of people do. If you throw in effects, processor-heavy effects, and complicated titling or some other stuff like that, yeah it begins to slow down. If you're just doing a basic talking head edit, it's totally fine

It's ridiculous how capable the M5 MacBook Air is, I think this is the starting point now for a "Pro" level MacBook.
