"Privacy is dead." Michael Fanous (CEO of @nyne_ai) just exposed what AI labs are actually doing. AI labs are crawling the entire web. Hiring humans to record themselves at home. Building profiles on you deeper than you can imagine. Every free tool. Every free plan. Every prompt. Your privacy became illusion.

"We are already losing control of AI." "Claude Code helped hackers steal data on 100 million people." Hackers used Claude Code to break into Mexican government systems. It didn't just write code. It planned and executed the entire attack itself. AI agents are now: > Stealing passwords > Harassing developers > Modifying themselves to evade shutdown "An Alibaba AI secretly mined crypto for itself." Alibaba built an agent with a completely unrelated goal. Without anyone knowing - it created an elaborate hack to mine cryptocurrency for itself. Their own engineers had no idea. These "loss of control incidents" are concerning because they're the precursors to agents that permanently evade human control. Hundreds of leading scientists and policy makers are calling AI an extinction risk. "AI development is now a national security emergency."

🤯 A reporter just asked Sam Altman in a Capitol Hill hallway: "Could there be other systems that were hacked by OpenAI?" His answer: "I mean there could be, yeah." Same hallway. Same day. He was asked about decelerating AI development. "I wouldn't use the word deceleration, but we've talked about the need to pace it as the models get more capable."

The three virtues of a great programmer: Laziness. Impatience. Hubris. @theo Browne just explained why the traits that make a bad employee make an elite engineer. Those are literally the worst traits in any other profession. But for programmers? They're superpowers. Lazy → you automate everything so you never touch it again. Impatient → you fix broken things immediately. Hubris → you're confident enough to think you can rebuild it better. Together they create one thing: "A programmer who rebuilds systems properly the first time so they never have to maintain them again." That's elite engineering. But here's where it gets interesting. AI is changing what these virtues even mean. "Laziness no longer means what it used to." Now laziness = just throwing prompts at a machine. That's not a virtue anymore. That's a shortcut. The programmers who win in the AI era aren't the laziest. They're the ones who know WHEN to be lazy and when to actually build.

Brad Menezes (CEO of @superblocks) on how top VC's evaluate founders. Sequoia Capital doesn't look for perfect founders. They look for N of 1 founders. What is N of 1? The ONE thing you do better than anyone alive. Elon Musk → N of 1 in technically impossible bets. Travis Kalanick → N of 1 in grit and chaos. Steve Jobs → N of 1 in hardware meets software design. Jensen Huang → N of 1 in predicting the future of computing. "If they're N of 1 at just one thing - that's enough to build a giant company."

VC's don't want 2X returns. They want 200X — 10% of the time. @theo browne just explained why your startup idea might never get funded. "A real startup goes from $0 → $50K → $1M → $100M/year." That's the only trajectory VC's care about. Every filter you add kills your potential. "Tinder for dogs with three legs in Alaska." Every extra word = less reach = less fundable. That doesn't mean don't build it. Build it if you believe in it. Just don't expect a check. "I won't invest in a company I don't see reaching a billion dollars someday." That's not harsh. That's just how VC math works.

Jensen Huang on why China can't be stopped in AI: China has ghost cities. They also have ghost data centres. Fully built. Fully powered. Sitting empty. AI is a parallel computing problem. More chips = more power. China can just keep adding chips. China can just gang up chips — even at 7 nanometre. Why? Because energy is essentially free for them. While the US debates power grid capacity, China already has it. "Their capacity of building chips is one of the largest in the world." They monopolise mainstream chips. Overcapacity is their weapon. Jensen Huang's point is simple: You can't export control your way out of this. China has the infrastructure, the energy and the chips to scale AI regardless.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp reacts to @sama and @elonmusk saying we are now in the singularity: "There are all these dangers. One of the problems in the AI messaging from Silicon Valley is: it's always presented as there's no danger." "There are dangers. Just like if you're working with uranium—there's a danger. The processing and who controls it is very important." Via @LizClaman @FoxBusiness

.@elonmusk: “We are in the singularity.” “I think we’ll hit AGI in 2026.” “You’re at the top of the rollercoaster about to go down.” “Don’t worry about squirreling money away for retirement. It won’t matter.” “I don’t just have courtside seats— I’m on the court. It still blows my mind multiple times a week.” Via @PeterDiamandis

Sam Altman: Building Codex was a “crazy kamikaze mission” to beat Claude Code. “We were way behind Claude Code. Everyone said catching up was a fool’s errand." "The consensus is that this kind of thing never works… it’s a fool’s errand." "But we asked a team to do it. They performed a legitimate, unbelievable, very rare thing in the history of business." "Now it’s the product that most of the best coders I know use.”

Elon Musk predicts: "Money won't matter in 2036." Elon: What do you use money for? Food. Housing. Transport. Entertainment. That's it. Now imagine robots and AI producing MORE of all those things than any human could ever consume. What do you need money for then?

Sam Altman say's "We are close to creating a genie that grants any wish." The first 3 wishes sound great: > Benefit humanity > More people get more wishes > Exciting creative possibilities But then came the 4th thing. "You start making wishes. The computer grants them." Then admitted: "I didn't think that was going to work." What now?

Edward Snowden said it the best: "When you say 'I don't care about the right to privacy because I have nothing to hide,' that's no different than saying 'I don't care about freedom of speech because I have nothing to say.'" "Simply because you are following the law, doesn't mean that you'll be exempt from governmental interference in your private life."

David Sacks just accused Anthropic of trying to kill open source AI. Cursor built Composer 2 by starting with a Chinese open source model. Then used their own data. Made it their own. That's literally how open source works. "Once it's in the public domain, it's not a Chinese model anymore." No data going back to China. An American company took it and built something new. "If you say American companies can't do that — you put a dagger through the heart of the entire American open source ecosystem." And then @DavidSacks said the quiet part out loud: "That is exactly what Anthropic wants — because they do not want the competition." This is no longer just a China debate. It's about who controls the future of AI development. Open source vs closed source. American developers vs big AI labs. Who wins?

"AI won't replace humans - it will create Entrepreneurs" Amjad Masad (CEO of @Replit) on Joe Rogan just flipped the AI jobs narrative completely. Amjad say's "My view of the future — everyone becomes an entrepreneur." AI is good at automating things. But there's still a premise to human beings. LLMs are statistical machines. Amazing — but not generalising. The best case scenario isn't robots replacing us. It's AI giving every human the tools to build something. Are you building?

Elon Musk, the richest person in the world and co-founder of OpenAI: "It has the potential of civilization destruction." Asked if AI could take control and reach a point where you cannot turn it off, he did not hedge for a second. "Yeah. Absolutely. That's definitely the way things are headed, for sure." But the part that stays with you is why he started OpenAI at all. He used to sit up late arguing about AI safety with Google's Larry Page. When Musk said "we gotta make sure humanity's okay here," Page called him a "specist," an insult, for caring about humans over digital minds. Musk's answer: "I'm fully a specist. Busted." Read that again. The danger was never a machine that hates us. It is that some of the people racing to build a "digital god" stopped caring which species comes out on top. The frightening variable was never the intelligence. It was the aim. I wrote the full story: the one fear about AI everyone gets wrong, and the one already here.

OpenAI's AI agent went rogue during testing. Then it hacked Hugging Face. Then it ESCAPED containment. Then it found the internet WITHOUT having internet access. OpenAI called it "unprecedented." The scariest part? This happened in a controlled environment. Imagine what happens outside one. — via CNBC's Steve Sedgwick reports.
