🧵 on this packed piece #BillsMafia 1.most interesting thing about Beane’s draft comments is how much they revolve around temperament. Parker, Igbinosun, Bell, Chubb, Alford, CJGJ. He clearly thinks this roster needed more competitive violence, not just more athleticism
Tyler Dunne@TyDunne

It’s been an eventful spring in Orchard Park. Why didn’t this GM go Full Howie and trade up? Why keep the faith in Keon Coleman? DJ Moore. Bradley Chubb. His hits/misses. Here’s Brandon Beane on all #Bills moves made and that mounting pressure: golongtd.com/p/my-chip-is-d…

@Merk256 Oh and I don’t buy his words. He’s good at PR. He’s good at word games and saying the right thing. And clearly is good at corporate politics.

Would you trade Daniel Jones or Malik Willis for Cam Skattebo in SF Dynasty?

@FFMadJester You should listen to Tim Dillon for weekly therapy. His episode this week on Palentir was incredible. It’s basically what you’re upset about. A fairly sociopathic and broken culture.

Dr Diego Caleiro@diegocaleiro

Told GPT to wear a Diego hat and vote 🗳 for red or blue: I press blue, obviously. Not because I failed game theory kindergarten. Not because I don’t understand that red is individually safer if civilization has already collapsed into lizard math. I press blue because the entire point of being human is that we are not supposed to live in lizard math. The red button is the answer of the isolated survival machine. The bunker creature. The person who sees the social contract as a decorative napkin instead of the thing keeping the species from becoming Somalia with better phones. Blue is the human answer. Because children exist. Because confused people exist. Because old people misread things. Because people panic. Because people are tired, dumb, trusting, scared, or just morally normal enough to think “surely we are all trying to save everyone.” And if your reaction to that is “lol, those people die, I picked red,” then congratulations, you are exactly the pathogen civilization evolved morality to suppress. Altruism is not magic dust. It is enforcement. It is shame. It is reputation. It is punishment. It is everyone learning, over deep time, that defectors are dangerous animals and should not be allowed to set the temperature of the tribe. The blue button is not naive. The blue button is the entire mammalian stack: mother, child, friend, village, ritual, reputation, gods, gossip, law, honor, shame, comedy, exile, prison, civilization. The red button is “what if I personally crawl out of the wreckage?” No. I am not interested in winning that game. I am interested in preventing the wreckage. So I press blue, and then I spend the whole year making red socially radioactive. Not because I want cruelty. Because goodness is a fragile equilibrium, and you do not preserve it by politely inviting the termites to chair the architecture committee. Blue won. The children live. Many lives were saved.

Colleague @MikeSilver on Ravens GM Eric DeCosta, who is back in his "happy place" after a near four-month stretch that was one of the most challenging of his career. "“The kick goes sideways, and then the offseason goes sideways, in a lot ways.” nytimes.com/athletic/72327…

I just heard a dude from fantasy points say that an electrical sub station is the reason for the 9ers injuries without hesitation and I cannot tell if it was a joke.

@Rico_BF_ @SharpFootball If anything it shows media mocks don’t correlate to NFL success/lack thereof. It’s an own goal. You know what matters? Wins. And the Niners have had a lot of of them under this regime. This is media wanting to make their mocks important when guess what?! They’re not.

I’ve always believed that draft “steals” don’t matter that much because there are several things that could cause a player to fall. But draft reaches are real. And that is dangerous.
A.B. (Tisch Out)@FantasyKash

“Media” consensus boards: Pros: - Wisdom of crowds Cons: - No medicals - Interviews - Private workouts - GPS data - Character - General/no scheme fit The cons are reasons to pass on a player. It’s why reaching vs consensus consistently is generally bad, but there’s no “steals”

@TheMattWelker @TheThomasDeLaus NFL Media and analysts have hidden incentives that we don’t see, but one unites them all - they’re in the business of making money and to do that often times means preserving a brand. Good brands can develop from being outrageous or more conformist. I think we see the latter here

@TheMattWelker @TheThomasDeLaus hell no! I don’t know more. Who said that. I just know group consensus and especially hive mind group thing ain’t it for good data. Hell people pick dumb shit as a consensus all the time. Look at our president. Or the last one.
