If you really want to lose your mind, you should read about how the NYC hotel workers union and their allies succeeded in making it ~impossible to open new hotels in NYC, which, along w the Airbnb ban, restricts hotel supply, shoots room-rates to the moon, and therefore allows hotel workers to get paid $$$ at the expense of all other tourism-related businesses and employees in the city

One of my friends works in boutique employment law in NYC, white male discrimination cases rule because instead of having to meticulously pick through years of performance reviews and correspondence for a hint of discrimination, you just subpoena emails and Ctrl+F “white men”

LaGuardia is my favorite airport because it is beautifully renovated, lands you in the heart of New York City, and only a single obscure bus line connects it to any form of public transit. The agencies that would need to work together to change this all hate each other.
