To be clear, it wasn't a "crusade against elves" it was a crusade against people who live in trees. A lot of those happened to be elves, sure, but we also killed plenty of gnomes and mousefolk. Even a village of giant sentient owls. Hard to call any of that "racially motivated".

The "invisible" hand of the free market isn't invisible to me at all. It wears a big white glove, shoots lasers from its fingertips, and occasionally swoops in for a powerful grab attack. It's honestly all a bit much.

Naming my son something like "Colton" or "Hayward" to up his chances of one day playing tambourine in an indie folk band. My daughter's name could be anything. Her choice. Really not my place to say.
