@Zitel_304 @FoxNews Why? You know other people being wealthy doesn’t cut into your ability to earn. This isn’t a “Scrooge Moneybin” situation. It’s not in some bank account rotting away where you can’t get it. Love how Colonel Sanders enforces the class divide every time.

@4score__7 @theficouple There are a lot less of those than you might think. What has broken our housing market is hedge funds buying huge amounts of single family homes to rent out. Paying over asking price to ensure they get the house which drives up housing prices even further.
English

@theficouple Not really worried too much about those who are aging in place. It’s the multi-home “investors” who have gobbled up all the inventory for their “portfolios”. THAT is what is broken in our housing market.
English

@alanthefisher “Yes, I did dump 400 gallons of antifreeze in this lake, but look at how much they are dumping over in that one! It’s much worse so I should just keeping dumping this here.” Dumbass

@fishguy907 Less than what we have spent in Iran in the last 2 weeks

there are so many astroturfed conservatives against CAHSR because the second that there is a working train between 2 cities in the US that can hit 200mph it is fundamentally over for the argument of "that doesn't work here"
The oil lobby will do everything possible to stop that
Central Valley Politics@CV__Politics
just learned there are actual living humans who believe the california high speed rail project will ever be completed LMFAOOO
English

@im_ken_choi @Bitcoin_Teddy That’s not the majority of Gen Z. Most of them are whining online that they have to work 40 hours a week.
English

@Bitcoin_Teddy What gets me is people calling Gen Z lazy when they're literally working two jobs and a side hustle just to break even. That's not lazy. That's survival being rebranded as ambition.
English

@endofmarx @jonbrooks What you are doing here is trying to demand other people live their lives the way YOU want them to. I will not have children, and I am paying a shit ton of taxes to support people that want to pop out babies they can’t support.
English

@jonbrooks Tax the piss out of the childless.
Don’t tax those with children.
Make the lifestyles level.
English

@endofmarx @jonbrooks You already get tons of tax breaks on your little semen demons. If anything, I should pay less since I am not using the school system.
English

do I think that CAHSR and the state of California have had issues with this project? of course, and I have talked about the problems in multiple videos at this point. But also this project is still the farthest along high speed rail project in the country, and thats why its the boogie man to them.
By the way, they are now laying rail on the track bed, its further along than you'd thing based on the singular image that chuds keep posting over and over

@DeptOfDravidian @Nexuist My first car was $600 in 1998 and that has absolutely no bearing on current used car prices.
English

@Nexuist Every time this stupid "fact" shows up on Twitter I have to repeat: I've owned two cars for <= $5000, and they were perfectly adequate
English

$5k car is the “you can’t pay rent but you have an iPhone?” of the post Covid generation
They don’t exist and if they do they have 3 accidents, 140k miles and 7 owners on their carfax
Deviled Meggs@Deviled_meggs_
Be the person with $100k in the bank and a $5k car. Not $5k in the bank and a $100k car.
English

@rednecknerd123 @harsimranbansal @paleonormie Also… where are you seeing half million mile rangers from 2020? That’s a million miles a year and I don’t see that happening.
English

@fishguy907 @harsimranbansal @paleonormie Even then you are making bling guesses.
That Chevy Silverado moved from a 4 gear planetary to a 5 gear planetary. In theory that makes it 20 percent stronger.
In practice they are weaker because they also changed the steel alloy for cost savings.
Again, you just can’t tell.
English

idk man talk to some mechanics some time, it seems that the consensus is that vehicle longevity peaked in the 2000s and newer models are increasingly disposable
Surrealistship@SurrealistShip
As cars last longer and longer it makes less and less sense to own them that entire time. A waymo future to use the asset as much and as fast as possible seems like most economically efficient way, and probably will happen as a result
English

@BALUCIAGA Art was sustained through capitalism. Even then they knew that you can’t make shit off art unless someone that HAS money from capitalism buys your shit.
English

@jedirich_ @Bellagio But hey, let’s keep only appealing to high rollers. Let’s ride this into bankruptcy.
English

@jedirich_ @Bellagio First off, Vegas is built on the low roller. If Bellagio and Aria are sold out every night, but the other 7 MGM resorts are dead… shockingly MGM is not doing well.
English

Vegas is “dead,” right?
@Bellagio check-in. Monday, 4:20PM.
Just overheard a couple say they booked here because Aria was sold out.
But yeah… “dead.”
What actually changed is who is coming.
Vegas has been clearing out the cruise-ship crowd —
the “Griswold family vacation” crowd…
Rusty and Audrey melting down over a $13 candy bar,
Uncle Eddie asking why water costs $12 in a desert.
Meanwhile, the people still showing up?
They’re spending more per trip.
That’s why revenue has held strong.
So yeah… it looks a little less packed.
That’s because it is.
The Strip isn’t built for $100 weekends.
It’s built for people who came to have a time.
Not empty.
Not chaotic.
Just consistent — even on a random Monday afternoon.
Call it whatever you want…
But if this is “dead,”
it just means the Griswolds went home. #vegas

@wrinklefreelee @beauxdwall7 @JMQC90 My GM just got fired for the store not performing in the middle of a car sales draught in my area. Like everything else, you go up the ladder, you get more things you are responsible for. “Workers are the backbone” sure. I also don’t get fired for the overall store doing badly.
English

@beauxdwall7 @JMQC90 well…yeah, but what i’m saying is they shouldn’t be taking those grunt workers for granted, since they’re the backbone of the industry
English

@rednecknerd123 @harsimranbansal @paleonormie Yes you can. Manufacturers are using looser piston rings and more turbo charging at the expense of reliability because they have to meet stupid ass government mpg guidelines. Nobody is going to turbo v6’s because they are better engines. They aren’t.
English

@Baltimore_MJD Good thing you muted it. He should drag it out. Baltimore realized they could get Henderson without giving up draft picks and bounced. He had surgery in January. I could have told you that he won’t pass a physical and I am a functional idiot. Fuck the raven bitches.
English

I really thought this whole Crosby and Ravens saga was over. Honestly felt bad for Maxx after the trade fell through and how it happened.
But now that he’s dragging this thing out in the media I really don’t feel bad at all. You say you’re happy to be a Raider and want to finish your career there, so stop playing victim and move on.
English

@rednecknerd123 @harsimranbansal @paleonormie If you think your Ecoboost V6 is going to last you 200,000 miles without massive amounts of work done, I can’t help you. Small engines with forced induction run hotter typically. Thus they don’t last as long.
English

@fishguy907 @harsimranbansal @paleonormie This is propaganda. To get to the 200k in 5 years you’re doing 40k annually. Very few people actually do that which means there really isn’t data, just vibes.
Everyone said the same thing about Prius/EV cost and they massively exceeded expectations.
English

@rednecknerd123 @harsimranbansal @paleonormie Actually, cars newer than about 5 years old mostly will never come close to 200k miles without serious repair. You can thank government mpg requirements. Smaller and smaller engines with more turbo psi and 10 speed transmissions are killing longevity.
English

@harsimranbansal @paleonormie Yup. This is the truth and a significant problem in the used car space.
