As we honor the fallen, it’s worth taking a moment to recognize how unique generational freedom and liberty are when examining history. The tragic part about DOGE’s failure is that this was truly a once in a generation opportunity to solve the biggest problem that our country faces. You had a private sector guy with unlimited money that could withstand heat and criticism. You had a president who is completely uninterested in the nuances of governing and gladly delegates the actual work of his job to others, in exchange for doing more TV spots. You had complete control of Congress, with cult like obedience to anything their dear leader tells them. DOGE could have come in and done what nobody else had the balls or the political capital to do. They could have frozen spending growth on entitlements for a decade. They could have demanded the Pentagon pass budgets or accept automatic sequestration. They could have come in and said taxes need to be modestly raised across the board to help pay back the years of profligate spending that everyone benefitted from. They could have done all of this via legal routes and most important *through* Congress - to make it permanent. But no. Instead. DOGE came in and focused on the most bizarre, minuscule, and irrelevant line items in a $7,000,000,000,000 budget. And even that, was almost all stopped by courts because it was done illegally, and/or not cancelled by Congress, since they were never consulted. We won’t get this opportunity again for a very long time. We blew our chance for this generation. What a shame.
