If Manchester City complete the signing of Bouaddi, they’ll have spent 819m in just 18 months around 100m shy of what Arteta has spent across six and a half years at Arsenal. The expectation next season has to be winning the Premier League. Not competing. Not “being in the mix.” Winning it. You cannot spend that amount of money in such a short period and ask for patience. The pressure should be enormous.
