Literally, what are you guys talking about? 48% of Americans have no money left after paying for their bills and food. 76% of Americans are living pay check to pay check with little to no discretionary income. This isn't because Americans are stupid and don't know how to use their money. It's because the cost of living is rising faster than the rate of pay. People are getting buried more and more every year. ONE medical emergency, you're in trouble. If your car shits out (because most Americans need cars) you're in trouble. At 19 I almost had to file bankruptcy because of medical debt. Bankruptcy at 19 because I was sick. That would have made my early adulthood tremendously difficult to navigate.
There are many ways in which Americans are privileged. That doesn't discount how much many of them are struggling. We have literal food deserts here. There are entire communities of people living off the grocery store equivalent of a gas station.

No, Zoomers definitely have it worse in many ways. Gen X got the first rugpull, then Millennials got a bigger one, and Zoomers even bigger. '08 GFC was bad, but it wasn't "+30% inflation in 5 years" bad. We at least had a decade before our rugpull #2. Zoomers never had a chance.
