@flieldy
Teamster. Married to my wife. I drop things sometimes but I can usually kick them before they hit the ground

@hissingchoir @staticbluebat Birdman took a big swing at critics and people thought it was cringe but I had a good time. The score rules. I think people didn’t like the fake one-shot conceit either
English

@staticbluebat i’m not a moviehead so forgive me, but— what’s people big criticism of this director?
English

Looks good idk I don’t like the Revenant but I don’t hate Iñárritu like so many people on here seem to
DiscussingFilm@DiscussingFilm
First trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's ‘DIGGER’, starring Tom Cruise. The film follows the most powerful CEO in the world who must save the world from a disaster that he created. In theaters on October 2.

@jaegervonkramer They bother me a lot but so far they havent forced it. It’s been years, I’m about 10 versions behind.

English

@flieldy Don’t worry Apple will do that for you
English

@gonetocroatan @UpdateTheGrids I feel bad for him. I don’t know the details but I can imagine. Those early Sparta records are so good. I just wish he would play with a second guitarist
English

@flieldy @UpdateTheGrids I had a few beers with him after a Sparta show and he almost started crying talking about how mean they were to him :/
English

@ExileGrimm If you are old enough to have tattoos you should be legally barred from making music like this
English

@JWGrimey This lady was gonna cut in front of me to a backed-up lane and stick out blocking me so i made sure I got out first to prevent it and she was so mad.
English

@flieldy Got in an argument with my wife about this a couple months ago when some guy almost hit us even tho I had the right of way because I was going straight
English

@UpdateTheGrids Nah I remember the run-up to that record and tour Jim was going to be part of it and then he pulled out. They were probably still being assholes to him lol
English

@UpdateTheGrids @regularaugust They did it a couple times. Coloring book EP is fantastic and Material Control is great too.
English

@hissingchoir Alice Coltrane is often ethereal and spacey. The harp adds unusual instrumentation. Monastic Trio is a great album. Tales of the Exonerated Flea by Horacee Arnold has cool flutes & is a great fusion album in general although not as chill a vibe. Coltrane & Sanders also get noisy.
English

@younglovers They’re so good. That post going around about openers stealing the show made me remember the time they opened for mbv and upstaged them easily. I also got to see them with Kelley Deal on guitar during the Consolation EP tour. Most expensive EP I ever bought ($25)
English

@flieldy Protomartyr were incredible live. Wholly unexpected, blew my socks off.
English

The “innovation” here is the call box not having a screen or buttons or any interface at all and passing that cost onto you via your phone and internet bill, likely tracking your behaviors in the process.

@hissingchoir @rad4lyfe_ Bands like Milk Music, Creative Adult, The Men, Courtney Barnett were a welcome respite from the 2010s burger records surf rock / garage pop that felt dominant. I didn’t even want Wavves, although seeing Zach Hill drum for them live was cool
English

@flieldy @rad4lyfe_ wow ok i would’ve never guessed this one lol. I liked that first record ok
English

Reposting because it’s driving me crazy. Which band broke up and rebranded as something with 100s in the name? I remember them being good
Pink Floyd battle vest@flieldy
@hissingchoir Need to revisit this band. I remember liking them, even the acoustic stuff. Sidenote: do you remember a band that broke up and reformed as something like “the 100s” (like the cigarettes). I thought it was The Men or Crystal Antlers but I can’t find any evidence of them
English

@rad4lyfe_ 🙏🏼 thank you. I loved Milk Music and tried to follow them when they became Mystic 1000s and then forgot them entirely

This went quadruple platinum on my kitchen tape deck in 2010. Haven’t listened a while. Kind of all over the place (typical The Men) but transcendent when it lands. m.youtube.com/watch?v=1qjb-s…
