I remember in the 90s there was a rumor that Collective Soul was a secret Christian Rock band. Never got to the bottom of that, but they were definitely grunge bandwagon jumpers: "Shine" was a songwriting demo to sell to labels.

@gg_ellis I understand the idea that some of these bands have other great albums (like Slowdive) but that their reputation is really based on one (like souvlaki). That said, some of these are just their most famous albums. Different thing. Joni, MbV, Pixies, Steely Dan, Frank don’t belong.

@davedavieskinks Page did, however, do session work for Shel Talmy on other album tracks, playing acoustic 12-string guitar on "I'm a Lover Not a Fighter" and "I've Been Driving on Bald Mountain." None of the popular hits had him on them. Page himself has said he's not on that

expected disappointment. I would say already by the end of Unconditionally Guaranteed, my taste for commercial Beefheart had dried up, but this really does seem like Beefheart is phoning it in more than any other album. by side B, I was consistently bored and waiting for the end

Bob Dylan "Love and Theft" from the opening chords of Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum to the final notes of Sugar Baby Dylan presents an album so good it's difficult to imagine. Hard to believe only 4 yrs B4 we had Time Out of Mind. The CD version has a 2nd disc with 2 older tracks. A+
