It was a fun and informative day at #FLL, as @browardschools students participated in #AutismInFlight2026, where 50+ children and their families practiced the airport experience in a calm, supportive space. The simulation - from checking in to security processing and waiting at the gate - helped build confidence and brought smiles as they boarded @JetBlue's aircraft for a mock flight to beautiful Costa Rica. If you hear a loud rumble and thunderous roar over #FLL, look up! The U.S. @AFThunderbirds fighter jets are arriving for this weekend's #FLLAirShow. Before their headlining show performance, the jets will use our North Runway for a few hours of practice time on Friday, May 8, and will fly to/from our airport on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10 to the show location daily between 2-3PM. All flights to and from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and across its network are canceled. If you have a ticket booked on Spirit, the airline is advising travelers not to go to the airport and has provided guidance on its website regarding refunds or rebooking. It was a great start to #EarthDay2026 week at #FLL. Broward County's Aviation Department and Public Works Environmental Services (Air Quality Outreach and Marine Resources) welcomed passengers and invited them to participate in a pre-Earth Day activity. Guests wrote environmental pledges and received a free eco-friendly token for participating.
