Today, Vancouver City Council approved the City’s 2026 budget. The Zero Means Zero budget delivers a zero percent property tax increase while protecting and enhancing the City’s frontline services. This budget focuses on public safety and affordability while prioritizing the City’s frontline services including road and sidewalk maintenance, garbage pickup, parks and recreation, and infrastructure renewal. It also freezes user fees for recreation facilities and patio permitting. This budget gets us back to basics and Vancouver is proving that local governments can be disciplined and focused while delivering quality frontline services.

@KarmSumal So, collectively punish a community that clearly needs this essential family service because of a few bad apples? This is like saying that schools shouldn’t have fire alarms because some kids keep pulling them. You need to come out of the manosphere and into reality.

Here’s the thing. If the community in that area can’t keep things in tact then maybe we need to get rid of some stuff. Out the change tables in other areas that will respect the space.
