You will remember the coaches that really cared about you, demanded your best, refused to let you be average: you won’t remember the coach that let you do anything, held you to zero standards & let you abdicate responsibility. A coach that makes you earn it prepares you for life.

@ImYouthSoccer High quality match/training footage is a HUGE point. We still get a lot of poor footage, don’t know who the player is, low definition quality when you could record a fairly good high quality footage from your phone. This is a massive, massive point. Can’t claim technology in 26.

🤯 Division 1 Program attendance at Girls Academy Showcase events is a major PROBLEM! We analyzed 4 years of GA attendance data directly from the Girls Academy and Division 1 college program attendance is on a multi-year decline across the board. Even with the league growing substantially, now up to 129 clubs, the percentage of D1 recruits is declining year over year over year. The reality is less than 20% of all GA players will be recruited to play Division 1. Off course the top 10 GA clubs will say there are lots of coaches are their sidelines (and there are) but the reality is there is are 126 clubs and soon to be 129 this coming season so a huge drop off in coaches, where there should be MORE attending, should be concerning and those that are angry at this post, this is actual data which tells a story. What this means for the modern recruit: The dramatic 51% decline in attendance for events like GA Spring NC and steady drops across Winter Showcase and Champions Florida events show this is a league-wide trend, not just isolated events and means fewer eyeballs on your play in real-time which is the #1 way to get recruited. The Strategy Has to Shift: We aren't saying showcases are dead—we are saying your strategy must adapt to fewer sidelines. You cannot just show up and expect to be discovered. Direct Communication: Target coaches you want watching you before the showcase. Professional Film: High-quality game film is essential when fewer coaches are present. Supplement with ID Camps: Ensure you get 1-on-1 interaction at your top schools that are realistic at all levels. How is your recruiting strategy adapting to the new reality of showcase attendance? Let us know in the comments below! 👇 #GirlsAcademy #CollegeSoccer #SoccerRecruiting #D1Soccer #YouthSoccer #NCAASoccer #SoccerParent #SoccerData #ShowcaseStrategy #AdpatOrFade

As a player/coach don’t overlook the days when your sport saved you from being lost, saved you from other things bothering you, saved you from a path meant to create problems for you. Just because you didn’t always get what you wanted doesn’t mean you didn’t get what you needed…

You are not closing the gap on a more technical player without doing technical work. Resist doing what you like doing for what you need to do to become a more complete player. Behind fitness wise, do fitness work etc. You can’t avoid what needs to be done and close the gap.

Passing isn’t just completing the pass: 1: Did the pass help or hurt the player receiving? 2: Did the pass require extra touches to settle the ball, inviting defensive pressure? 3: Did the pass create or negate time & space? 4: Did the pass cause a problem for the opposition?

1 of biggest moments is when you realize you already have everything you need 2 go where you want 2 go. Right here, right now. No tools you are missing; you just have to figure out how to use them. sometimes you just have to sharpen your belief to see the power of the tools.

@Gabepluguez I think is a very good list but being able to self deprecate I would argue is in fact healthy, especially from a comedic & putting others at ease sense. This is the only one for me that might be too blanket of a generalised statement. Why self deprecation = no mental health?

After 3 decades of listening to his doctors, my father ended up with diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. After 3 years of listening to his son, my father ended up 40lbs lighter and cancer-free. Here are 39 health secrets his doctors forgot to tell him: 1. Stop doing diets that have a name. 2. Carbs don't make you fat - too many calories do. 3. Your physical health and mental health are not two separate things - they are reflections of one another. 4. The only *permanent* hack to drink less alcohol is to build a life so good you no longer feel the need to escape it. 5. Working out 3-5 days/wk is more sustainable long term than 6-7 days/wk. 6. The only equipment you *need* is your body. 7. Drinking diet Coke is significantly healthier than drinking regular Coke. 8. Resistance training is far superior to cardio for fat loss. 9. The only “diet” that works is a high-protein one. 10. Eating protein before carbs is the easiest way to crave less carbs. 11. Skipping workouts to spend more time with your family shortens your time on earth with your family. 12. Self-deprecating humor is a sign that you are not mentally healthy. 13. Exercise is a documented antidepressant - use it as such. 14. Most hunger scares can be cured by drinking water. 15. Sodium is not killing you it is keeping you alive. 16. Your habits make you fat not the “fat gene”. 17. Constantly wearing running shoes weakens your feet, core, and lower back. 18. Train your back and your core 2x as much as everything else. 19. Wear blue light glasses or put your phone in “night mode” to improve your sleep quality. 20. Take cold showers or ice baths periodically to increase your stress tolerance. 21. Cardio is less about fat loss and more about strengthening your heart and mind. 22. Eating your protein first will prevent you from overeating elsewhere. 23. Nuts are not a “healthy” snack. They are high fat, high calorie, and easy to overeat. 24. Lifting weights is the most effective workout method to lower your body fat percentage and improve your health. 25. Just because something is “vegan” does not mean it’s healthy. 26. Intermittent fasting is not a magic pill. It works because you eat less food. 27. Working out is not just for looks. Your body is the temple of God and you should honor it as such. 28. Stop waiting till your next doctor's visit to weigh yourself. You can’t manage a problem you avoid confronting. Weigh yourself daily instead. 29. Having no routine on the weekends is saying your goals don’t matter 29% of the time. 30. Turn the room temperature down to 68 degrees or lower at night. We fall asleep faster in colder environments. 31. Eat slower. It gives your body time to secret Leptin, the “I’m full” hormone. 32. Find an active hobby you enjoy and participate in it regularly. 33. Stop picking up your phone as soon as you wake up. Mindless morning scrolling starts the day off with unnecessary stress. Wait 30 minutes to check your phone instead. 34. Stop sleeping on your side, it deteriorates your shoulder health over time. Sleep on your back instead. 35. Don’t drink coffee as soon as you wake up - but don’t drink coffee in the afternoon either. Both extremes mess up your hormones. 36. Men operate on a 24-hour hormone cycle. Our drive is highest in the morning. Take advantage of this and work out before your family wakes up. 37. Mindless snacking is less about hunger and more about your lack of emotional control. 38. I’ve never seen anyone keep the weight off long-term without accountability outside of themselves. Share your goals with other men. 39. Motivation is fleeting - you must establish proper default actions to actually be consistent.

You can justify any discourtesy but doing things the right way is still harder than doing them the wrong way. The wrong way is often a discourtesy to ourselves, we just can’t see it in the moment because we know the right way takes so much more effort. Easy path = more problems

@chrismalenab Makes no sense that you cannot search by position BUT can search by academic year, division, conference, grad students, players who have transferred multiple times. NCAA doesn’t want to do positions bc they don’t want to be a “recruiting service” but that’s what’s the portal is

The ⚽️ #TransferPortal has been extremely busy, it’s been hard to keep up. I know it wasn’t intended to be a recruiting database, however since it has become that, I wish there was a way to filter for a player’s primary position. Like …. GOALKEEPER
