To me, this entire thing is also really giving post-Festa dinner coverage where everyone is putting words in our guys’ mouth and trying to explain them. Word choices matter and the media especially are running wild with their own speculations (and for all my pessimism, agenda).

Reading JPNtwt roasting that *voting member* is so satisfying. They're all so incredibly polite, full on honorifics, while saying something like, Oh I'm so sorry but... who are you? What a shame it seems like no one knows you here. Maybe that's why you never knew about humility.

I don’t know why I see some ARMY fighting with k-pop group stans. Honestly if any of them win a Grammy at all, their legacy will be that they won it the year BTS chose not to participate.

私の周りでも色々と言う人がいるので、ここに長い独り言書かせて…… BTSはこれまで何度もグラミーに挑戦してきた。 ノミネートが発表された時の喜び、授賞式で名前が呼ばれる瞬間を見つめる表情、受賞を逃した後も笑顔で仲間を称え、次を見据える姿…。ARMYはその一つひとつを一緒に見守ってきた。 だからこそ、今回の決断は「諦めた」のではなく、本当に音楽と向き合ってきた人たちだからこそ出した結論なんだと感じた。 もし賞だけが目的なら、新設されたカテゴリーにエントリーするという選択もできたはず。 でも彼らは、自分たちだけの利益ではなく、「音楽は国籍や言語で区切られるべきではない」という信念を選んだんだと思っている。 BTSはデビュー当初から、自分たちが不利になることがあっても信念を曲げないグループだった。 今回もその延長線上にある決断なのだと思えた。 彼らは韓国のアーティストとしてだけでなく、アジアの音楽が世界でどう扱われるべきかという問いを投げかけた。 その姿勢は、これから海外を目指す多くのアジアのアーティストにも影響を与えるのではないかな。 もちろん、7人がグラミーのステージでトロフィーを掲げる姿を見たいという気持ちは消えない。でも、今回の決断によって、BTSは「賞を追いかける存在」ではなく、「音楽業界の在り方そのものに一石を投じる存在」になったのだと強く感じた。 だから私は、彼らからの声明を見たとき寂しさがかなったわけではないけど、それ以上に「BTSらしい」と思い、そして、同じアジア人として誇らしい気持ちになった。 私の推し達は本当にかっこいい。 改めて惚れる。
