@there_is_no_if Of course it won’t, but to me F1 is supposed to be the greatest of all Motorsport… the best and most advanced cars, the best engineers, best strategists, and the best drivers in the world. To be without Max makes F1… less in the same way these new regs have hurt F1.

Today's race due to its unique broadcasting choices offered a pretty good litmus test for how post-Max F1 would look like, and I often found myself not even realising he was still racing. So for those inside the bubble - if he retires the sport will not cease to exist.

@Tom97___ And #5 … there really is a safety issue in races with the disparity in closing speeds when a car is harvesting vs deploying, the drivers have said it from day 1 and by race 3 we have the first serious crash with an injury.

F1 is in a weird place for me at the moment. I've given it 3 races to gather some thoughts and I've got really mixed feelings. I'm leaning towards these regulations being negative on a 60/40 split (I'm close to 50/50). 1️⃣🟢 The racing has improved. We're getting far more overtakes and that makes the races easier to watch. More overtakes is never a bad thing! 2️⃣🟡 However, I can't shake off the thought, the methods of those overtakes we see go against what F1 stands for. 3️⃣🟡 Also, Tyres mean very little in race strategies in 2026 which is a shame, as the Hybrid is the protagonist. If they had equal importance, F1 would be a strategic chess match! 4️⃣🔴 The biggest gripe for me is Qualifying. Regardless of the hybrid/combustion split, F1 cars should be able to go 'Flat Out' for at least 1 Hot Lap, and that isn't the case in 2026.

@effonecasualfan The difference was dramatic. His whole body language and tone of voice today was someone unsurprised to be on the top step and comfortable with the belief he deserved to be.

Look at Kimi...the first win was emotional...this one? He takes it in his stride.....my only concern with Kimi has been the "mentality" side of things, we hadn't seen that yet... the kid might be championship material y'know...still early roads but I keep repeating this.... At 19 years of age, the kid should not be in this position with George Russell as his teammate!

@DutchTortill The drivers had said this exact crash was going to happen since before the first race. It won’t be the last either. Alonso said today that many overtakes like this are more of “evasive actions” than racing.

Was Bearman's crash caused by Colapinto suddenly harvesting? This is just another huge blow for the new regulations.

@framwyrmsbane They did but cut the reason why to avoid the podium drivers seeing the closing speed caused the issue, they didn’t want them discussing the safety issues with the new regs live on camera.

@nikld12 Yep they edited the video so it wouldn’t be clear to the podium drivers why the accident happened so they wouldn’t discuss the battery harvesting causing danger on camera.

@AngelMD1103 The IT was too casual and unprofessional for the environment but the Judge also overreacted and if he was a bigger man he wouldn’t have reacted and instead spoke later with the IT guy about proper decorum in the courtroom.

This got awkward FAST… ⚖️ During a remote court hearing, an IT technician tried to fix an audio issue and casually joked it was a “false alarm.” But the judge didn’t take it lightly at all—he immediately asked to speak to the technician’s supervisor. What seemed like a small comment quickly turned into a tense moment in court. Do you think the judge overreacted, or should professionalism be taken that seriously in a setting like this?

@MCCCANM If you don’t say a sound bite, you don’t get invited back on TV shows like that. At least I guess it was a positive one even if we understand the limits of what the crew could do once they were on the ground and in reverse.

I don’t see this being realistic. The loss of the pilots is sad, but we don’t need to create narratives of heroism.

@Agaji387 @Osint613 21 active world wide. They are worth about $600 million each. The loss of one certainly doesn’t stop or even impact the operation but it’s a serious loss with the replacement E-7 not due to be operational until 2032 at the earliest.

@Michael_L_Rauch @Tesla The issue is Tesla updates the cars too infrequently and too mildly for many car buyers. There is a cultural of getting “a new car” every 5-7 years (or i would argue considerably less in affluent demos who buy Tesla) yet they don’t offer something “new” in that timespan.

The @Tesla Model Y may be a victim of its own success. The more people I talk to say it’s a grea cart, but don’t want one because there are so many of them & they see it as boring. It’s sadly becoming a generic car to a lot of folks without much passion. 🚙
