Behavioral health runs on some of the most fragmented infrastructure in healthcare. @vkhosla in NY the government pays people to take care of their (medicaid-eligible) loved ones as a full time job I imagine this is what early forms of UBI will look like - govt has more wealth, uses that to hire citizens to do work that is hard for private businesses/ai to do for cheap

GenAI is likely to drive down wages or the 50-95th percentile more than for the bottom half! And it will drive down costs even more so cost of living goes down faster than wages I hope. Policy and politics are the key to this happening. A much more equal society is possible. Likely?

(for what it's worth, the teachers I work with who fall much closer to the "educational guide" side of things, are very happy -- often much more happy than traditional teachers -- and find significant meaning in their work)

but, when faced with questions like this where there's a direct conflict between teacher wellbeing and student outcomes, there is a simple imperative to prioritize student outcomes, and to find other ways to improve teacher wellbeing as a result.

going to be much more of this the next decade. teaching is shifting from "delivery of content" to "educational guide" there's already a huge battle in california underway over this: is the purpose of public education to educate or is it a jobs program?

Artificially delaying writes like form submissions can give your users more confidence that their changes went through. It gets annoying in high-frequency apps like Linear, but it feels better than an optimistic update during occasional submissions like a contact form.

You can use `Promise.all` to run the mutation and delay in parallel. This ensures the user only waits for the longer of the two, instead of stacking the delay on top of the request.

The obsessive hate from some parts of the VC community towards Palestinians is beyond insane. Why do they need to baselessly frame Palestinians in totally unrelated incidents? I suspect it’s to justify the mass child murder they’ve been cheering on in Gaza.

Here is @shaunmmaguire's now-deleted live video, in which he claims there is "very strong evidence" that Mustapha Kharbouch, a Palestinian Brown student, "likely" committed the murders of two Brown students. He treats Brown removing pages about Kharbouch as evidence of guilt, completely lost on him that this was a response to doxxing like his. He also falsely claims the slain MIT professor was Jewish and frames the killings as part of a history of "pro-Palestinian terrorism" that he says is supported by Mamdani. He closes by warning viewers that they "haven't been fed the true story," and, sadly, the people that are hurt the most are the "normal" Palestinians. Update: According to the AI that now lets us query YC's database, this is in fact the longest chain of people who've worked for YC startups and then gone on to start their own. There's no 4 generation chain yet.

I met a startup today whose founders had previously worked at Coinbase and Scale. And Brian Armstrong of Coinbase had himself worked at Airbnb. I bet 3 "generations" is not the record though. Anyone know of a longer chain?
