The chubby guy in the clip claimed the Duke pays more tax because he’d have to withdraw money from the trust, which would indeed be taxable. I simply pointed out that’s not how it actually works. The wealthy don’t “find” backdoors. They donate to the politicians who write the legislation and keep those backdoors wide open. Tax law is waterproof for the little man and porous for the elite and that, my friend, will never change.

Classic, perfectly legal structure that shows why “tax the rich” soundbites collapse the moment you look at how trusts and borrowing actually work.
