Misty morning views and vistas with dogs, sheep and Ovenmitt the cat. A field of floofy white dandelion seed heads on a misty morning are absolutely magic. One of nature’s wonderful secrets you didn’t know about until you see it for yourself

I did sleep great worrying about Rocky. I was 50/50 if he’d be alive. He was awake and waiting for his breakfast. That’s all I hoped for yesterday. One more day. Now we’ll try and get another day and take it from there 🙏

The video might not do justice to just how bad he is. The hardest part is moving him around. He’s trying to bite my arm off in fear and it’s scorching hot and then he’s super weak. It’s a hard one but if a dog is eating there is a chance!

A hard rescue today as I got a message from a kind local lady who needed help with an old blind dog. The poor boy was most likely dumped in the area because the “end was close for him”. He was confused on the beach and stuck. He wouldn’t have lasted much longer were it not for their bravery. His vet results were about as bad as it gets. His eyes might be glaucoma as he can’t see a thing and his kidneys and liver are bad as well as severe anemia. His anemia is so bad we can’t even put him on a drip. While I was driving him around I just had to keep talking to him as his head would keep dropping. His body is so weak. He is also very hard to handle as he lashes out with bites as he can’t see what is going on around him. He is terrified. The ladies called him Rocky as they are hoping he will make a comeback. It won’t be easy at all but he did start eating, drinking and resting well this evening. We will all have to keep everything crossed for this lovely boy. Whatever happens he isn’t on his own and he has the best medical care now. Rocky even let me pet his head tonight. I think he understands he is safe.

I promise you this will fill your heart full of joy. Nothing captures the positive bond between a human and their dog quite like this. Priceless ❤️

If you see this photo, please leave a comment! This is a beautiful Greenfinch.😍 Greenfinches have suffered a huge decline in the UK in recent years due to Trichomonosis, a fatal disease spread via contaminated food, water & bird feeders. When did you last see a Geenfinch?🐦

There’s a perfectly good - and sizeable - mud bath for the orphans to roll about in. But when they came across this boggy patch of mud, they couldn’t resist diving in. Notice Nymabeni - every ten seconds, she trunk touches or drapes over Kipekee’s back in constant communication with the little baby. It’s a sign of just how boundless Nyambeni’s heart is, and a portent to what to expect from this loving orphan elephant as she grows up. Matriarch? Devoted nanny? Mother? We eagerly await and see. Discover Nyambeni’s story: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/nyambe…

Do baby elephants suck their trunks? As demonstrated by Kaikai, yes they do! When she doesn't fancy suckling on her own trunk for comfort, she has a retinue of Keepers at her beck and call to offer cuddles or a finger as a pacifier instead. Ensuring the very youngest orphans feel comforted is paramount to their survival – alongside milk. But it's not for the faint-hearted. Behind every newborn orphaned elephant that survives is a Keeper who has poured endless hours of love and care, spent long nights singing lullabies, and gently encouraged their young charge to stand on the weighing scales for weekly weigh-ins – no small feat in itself: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/news/fieldnote…

@rebecca_ryder21 It's down to whoever oversees the procurement, if people in those positions bother to shop around instead of just going with the 1st company they come across there wouldn't be the waste that there is, seen it time and time again, sheer laziness

Would love to hear more on this from those who work closely with or for the NHS + other public services. I don't work for the NHS, but in a care home, so this is just what I have experienced/heard. Thanks for your comments.

NHS hospital: I noticed the clock on the wall showed the wrong time. A nurse told me they knew, but they wouldn’t report it because replacing the battery through the NHS would cost £70. A £2 battery... £70. How? Why? That's when I began to dig further. 🧵
