We lost one of the greats today. 💔 I had the privilege of training Chuck throughout the 80s and personally awarding him his first black belt. He was also a quiet advocate for metabolic equity. Back in the 80s, Chuck and I worked closely to bring food pyramid–aligned nutrition into the martial arts community. He was a strong believer in settled science, carb-forward fueling, and making sure no one felt excluded by overly restrictive, gym-bro approaches to health. He will be missed.

As you guys know, I’m a conservative who happens to be Gay. I’ve lent my voice to politicians and organizations and have been outspoken on many things concerning the safety of children. To allow them to grow up and figure out who they are on their own without the need for life altering drugs, procedures or ideology. In doing so I have been cancelled, iced out of my own community, lost friends and family members who won’t speak to me. I’ve been harassed, stalked, threatened and constantly ridiculed by people I once trusted. It cost me just about everything. I’ve recently realized that I’ll never be enough in some people eyes. I don’t have a massive following. I don’t have YouTube or tictok. I don’t even have Facebook. I just have my little voice on here. Regardless, i continued to speak and hopefully change minds and help people see truths and think for themselves. I am extremely disappointed in a few things. I figured at least I’d be helping. But it seems my help is not wanted or needed. I’m going to rethink what I’m doing with my life and where my voice will be most useful. ✌️

Today, I had the profound honor of meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama @DalaiLama, a global beacon of peace, compassion, and wisdom, and the spiritual leader of Tibet. I traveled all the way to the private monastery of His Holiness in Dharamshala, India, a hillside city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh where the Tibetan government-in-exile also lives. In a world filled with division and chaos, sitting down with the Dalai Lama was truly inspiring. His calm presence, deep insights on inner peace, and unwavering commitment to non-violence left a lasting impact on me. It is truly incredible that at the fragile age of 90 years old, the Dalai Lama is still standing firm against threats to freedom and human dignity, values that resonate deeply in these turbulent times. Meeting someone who has dedicated his life to promoting harmony and service to others while facing lifelong immense challenges and threats from the Chinese Communist Party was a reminder that true strength comes from kindness, compassion, resilience, and moral clarity. Grateful for this rare, once in a lifetime and meaningful private encounter that I will cherish for the rest of my life. May the Dalai Lama’s message of compassion and service to others continue to guide us all. 🙏
