So they make up lies to make that person look as bad as they want them to be perceived as. The narcissist relishes making good people look bad.

Normalize not making little girls hug anyone. Let them say no. Teach them it’s ok to not want to be touched, to need space, and to choose who they share affection with. Let this generation stop the performance.

It's ignorant to shift blame or shame towards someone who is estranged. What do you think their motive is to become estranged other than no longer being in relationship out of necessity. Do you think they win something? Are proving a point? If it's not about you, leave it alone.

" Be the bigger person" is BS advice at times. Your bigness is not determined by your capacity to quietly absorb bullying, degradation, or abuse.

Feeling sorry for an abusive person is not compassion-it’s enabling. Asking those who were hurt to consider their abusers past is not understanding-it’s enabling. Putting the wellbeing of an abuser before the healing of who they’ve hurt is not healing-it’s enabling.

There is no person you have to confront in order to heal. This idea often sets a survivor up to keep chasing something that will never bring them peace. You can find peace and heal without any feedback from the person who traumatized you.

Trauma survivors will be working 138% harder than anyone else in the room due to our conviction we have to overperfom to be safe or accepted-- & then tell ourselves we're "not working hard enough." It happens every day, in every setting you can imagine.

I was barely a week out of a civil divorce and a man from the mosque decided to propose mutah or temporary islamic marriage to me because I can't possibly live without sex, right? Wrong! to these men we are nothing but meat.

I left Twitter for ages because my abuser relative is on here pretending to be an Islamic leader in Birmingham. I spoke against him alone for over 30 years. I will never forget the damage that these men are doing in our communities and the silenced women victims.

This January I finally divorced after 28 years of narcissistic abuse where so called Islamic rulings were used to subjugate me and make me accept things done to me that were inhumane. However I have read the religion myself and know now that corrupt men have changed things.
