🔥🔥🔥Today on @joerogan, civil rights attorney @AaronSiriSG said what many Americans felt but struggled to articulate in 2020:
Lockdowns weren’t just “public health measures.”
They were the largest peacetime suspension of civil liberties in modern American history.
Businesses closed by decree.
Churches shuttered.
People arrested for paddleboarding alone.
Children masked and isolated.
Travel restricted.
Honest questions and debates censored.
And the most unsettling part?
How quickly we complied.
Siri’s point wasn’t partisan. It was constitutional.
Unalienable rights aren’t meant to be conditional. They aren’t meant to hinge on fear, case counts, or shifting executive orders. The entire premise of the Bill of Rights is that certain freedoms exist beyond government discretion; ESPECIALLY in moments of crisis.
Emergencies test nations.
2020 tested whether Americans understood the difference between safety and liberty.
Many didn’t hesitate to trade one for the other.
The real question now isn’t whether mistakes were made. It’s whether we’ve learned anything from them.
Because history shows:
Rights surrendered in fear are rarely returned without a fight.
