@Langley333 I finally discovered why they are doing this! The new kindle devices have Ads in them, which you have to pay more to not have ads. I’m assuming they couldn’t put ads on the old ones
A Kindle is probably one of the most low-tech devices ever made, so why is @AmazonUK discontinuing support for Kindle 1st and 2nd Generation? Why are they forcing new stuff without reason? A KINDLE IS A TEXT DEVICE! There is no need for updates. Text is text! #amazon#kindle
@amazon nice one you greedy sods. I think I'll be going back to actual books then, bought from an actual bookshop instead of Amazon, rather than waste money on a new Kindle I don't need because my current one works fine! Well it works until Amazon breaks it!

@spotistats mine isn’t working today, it’s not showing most of my stats. For example, I’ve listened to this album loads but all the songs on it show 0 listens yet I can see on the album it says 1692 mins
@saffronandsky@Redheadeddead@NeleHelena Plus I might not use it for months then suddenly in crisis out of desperation I know I have something there. It’s not a fix but sometimes a net of things to try can feel reassuring
@saffronandsky@Redheadeddead@NeleHelena I add and change things in mine for novelty reasons, but I also use it as a prompt. Like I have singles of some things - like oh I have a nail polish in here, let me go find a colour I feel like. Oh there’s fluffy socks, let me find something cozy I’m in the mood for.
I hate that basic mental health advice is always made for the physically abled. "Go for a walk. See a friend. Learn a new skill." Yeah I'm too sick to do these things. That's why I'm restless and looking for advice in the first place.
Also... 1/3
@Michael_S_Green Weren’t they more of a 70s thing? I collected wrappers which were then sent off to purchase a Jungle Game board game. The counters were porcelain Wade Whimsies animals.
@BladeoftheS And bone demineralisation, again, nothing to do with the drug. Any large weight loss especially if lost quickly can cause this. They are incredible drugs in managing obesity, and all drugs have risks. Many oral contraceptives have a risk of blood clot and stroke.
Ozempic and all the other GLP-1 receptor agonists have been shown to cause muscles loss, bone demineralisation and even liver shrinkage.
They are far from risk free.
@d5_rss@DrNeenaJha@fillthewhole Again, similar to why they’re worn to prevent disease transmission. The droplets from coughs and sneezes contain and transmit the illness. Likewise, in surgery, masks protect the body from germs.
@foxinthemist@DrNeenaJha@fillthewhole The mask is worn to prevent body fluid contamination nothing to do with a virus. Talk about being utterly clueless
GP clinic full of patients with flu symptoms & not one wore a mask
If you’re seeing your GP & are coughing, sneezing etc…
please wear a mask
We have vulnerable patients in our waiting rooms & as HCP we’re also trying to protect ourselves from the ++volume of flu pts we see 🙏
@d5_rss@DrNeenaJha@fillthewhole So if you have surgery one day, remember to advise your surgeons not to wear a mask when operating on you as they don’t offer you any protection should they cough on your open body
Lucy Powell voted in favor of the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill at its Second Reading in July. She supported the Labour government's position despite unanimous condemnation from disabled people and the DDPOs that represent us. She voted for our poverty.
